Genshin Impact recently released its first batch of new playable characters, all of whom are based in Sumeru, but even before the first Dendro 5-Star Tighnari could complete his Limited-time Banner run, people were already talking about potential playable characters such as Kaveh. This naturally included characters who were already announced, such as Nilou, Cyno, and Dehya. However, the rumored Kaveh remains a big a topic of discussion.

Genshin Impact leakers have been hard at work, looking into who he is and his overall kit. So, it’s no surprise that there’s already plenty of information about Kaveh online. As usual, these leaks are not final and shouldn't be taken as fact, but they provide food for thought.

Everything Known About Genshin Impact Kaveh So Far

Kaveh is one of the leaked Genshin Impact characters that have yet to appear in-game. Most of them have to do with his lore, with little pertaining to his kit, but leakers claim that he’ll be a male Dendro-user. His weapon and his rating are still unknown.

Kaveh is also primarily connected to the NPC Alhaitham. According to lore leaks, Kaveh was Alhaitham’s upperclassman when the two were still students. He supposedly graduated from Kshahrewar, a school within the Sumeru Akademiya that focuses on the study of technology, architecture, and puzzle-solving.

With his knowledge, he built The Palace of Alcazarzaray, a lavish structure in Sumeru that belongs to Dori. Nilou remarks that he must have enjoyed building such a magnificent palace. Meanwhile, Dori’s voice line reveals that she was the one who lent Kaveh the Mora he needed to build the palace. This raises suspicion for the cunning merchant, considering that Kaveh got into trouble after completing Dori’s commission.

After the palace’s construction, Kaveh fell into debt, so Alhaitham let him stay at his house. The two likely live together in the events of Genshin Impact. However, Kaveh has his issues with Alhaitham. Collei’s voice line confirms this as she tells the player about the time Cyno invited Kaveh to their place for a meal. Kaveh then ranted “non-stop” about how “difficult and stubborn” Alhaitham was. Collei notes that he did most of the talking that meal, and that she could only nod and try to keep her laughter in.

Cyno’s voice line on Kaveh also relates to that get-together. According to him, he noticed how Tighnari and Collei seemed to prefer Kaveh’s funny stories over his jokes. But while Cyno struggles with making humorous jokes, Kaveh has also reportedly taken up a new hobby he isn’t good at – stage magic. It’s unclear why he chose to try stage magic all of the sudden, but later quests may shed some light on the matter.

Genshin Impact Kaveh’s Unofficial Art

Genshin Impact - Kaveh

It’s become a trend for artists in the Genshin Impact community to draw unreleased characters in hopes of getting as close to the official art as possible. This is facilitated by popular leakers, such as Blank, hxg_diluc, and SYP, who rate unofficial art by how close they are to the source material. For instance, the community saw a very accurate unofficial depiction of Candace before she was announced, and there are also some for the leaked Genshin Impact character Mika.

Recently, user waternaeng on Twitter posted their rendition of Kaveh of Genshin Impact, and the leakers were astounded as the fan art is apparently extremely close to the official look. SYP thought it was suspiciously close, while hxg_diluc gave it an 8.5 out of 10. Interesting to note here is that this is the same artist who drew a nearly identical Ayato two months before his official art came out. So far, that’s everything the community knows about Kaveh, but players are eagerly awaiting more details about his kit and potential release date.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
