A Genshin Impact fan is sharing an educational infographic explaining several of the design elements featured in the teaser reveal for the Natlan region. HoYoverse made waves with fans of the RPG during the recent Version 4.7 Special Program, giving fans a surprise first look at the game's next major region of Natlan. The teaser showcased Genshin Impact's new Mount system and unveiled the first in-game views of Natlan's widely varied landscapes, featuring both volcanic locations and fertile valleys. Now, one fan is going in-depth on the new region's design choices.

Before Natlan's official reveal in Genshin Impact's recent livestream, fans were given plenty of teasers about what to expect from the Pyro region. Lore surrounding the region have set up Natlan as a land of "dragons" within the world of Teyvat, also teasing that war will play a central role in the story of Natlan. Early leaks and hints about the region have also teased several locations expected to feature within the Pyro Archon's domain, including hot springs and a volcano. Natlan's first teaser has now given fans plenty of hints about the overall theming of the region.

Though Dainsleif's story continues in Version 4.7, Genshin Impact has also given players their first glimpse of Natlan during the latest livestream.

An informative series of graphics shared by Twitter user SiriusPotato showcases several of the inspirations for Natlan's world design. The post details the close similarity between the "cracked lowlands" of the region with the natural phenomena of "horsts" and "grabens," formations created by the shifting of the earth. Many of Natlan's high peaks were compared to mesas and buttes while their cliffsides were likened to "painted walls," suggested in-game to be the result of graffiti by the people of Natlan. Fans also previously discovered that Natlan's design will draw inspiration from "pre-colonial Latin America."

Genshin Impact Infographic Shares Natlan Real-World Inspirations

The deep dive into Natlan's geography is the most recent example of plenty of fan speculation following the debut of the region's teaser. Many Genshin Impact fans have already begun to pinpoint Natlan's location within Genshin Impact's in-game map, using in-game views from Sumeru to place Natlan southwest of the Dendro region. HoYoverse has also hinted at Natlan's position in Teyvat through in-game dialogue, suggesting that players would need to "cross a desert" in order to reach the region.

Alongside the launch of Natlan in Version 5.0, Genshin Impact is expected to introduce several major quality-of-life changes to the game in the near future. HoYoverse confirmed that Genshin Impact's performance requirements will be raised with the launch of Version 5.0, to account for enhancements in the new region. Version 4.7 will also increase Genshin Impact's Resin cap for the first time since Version 1.1, raising the limit to 200. Genshin Impact fans look to have plenty of positive changes coming as the debut of the game's next region approaches.
