Unfortunately, there aren’t many Hydro Phantasm enemies in Genshin Impact. After the calamity passed, strange forms of water were born that didn’t resemble the beauty or elegance of Oceanid, and thus were labeled as tainted.
Tainted Hydro Phantasms are usually seen guarding a chest in Genshin Impact alongside another Hydro Phantasm or a group of Hydro Slimes. The Hydro creature drops a Drop of Tainted Water, a Scoop of Tainted Water, and a Newborn Tainted Hydro Phantasm. The higher the World Level, the higher the chance of receiving all three enemy drops. As they're considered Elite enemies, not many of them exist on the map, and their drops are only used for weapon Ascension materials.
Hydro Phantasm Locations In Genshin Impact
There are a total of 18 Tainted Hydro Phantasms in Genshin Impact, and two of them are local legends that pack a serious punch. Most of the Hydro Phantasms aren’t in proximity to each other. But, players can find a decent cluster of enemies scattered around the Court of Fontaine.
Northeast Of Romaritime Harbor
From the Denouement of Sin Domain in Genshin Impact, head north and defeat the Tainted Hydro Phantasm. After that, swim to the eastern island to find two Hydro Phantasms guarding a chest in Genshin Impact.
North Of Elynas
- From Elynas Waypoint, go north towards the Condessence Crystals to spawn a Hydro Phantasm and a bunch of Slimes.
- Next, Travelers should teleport to the Waypoint found east of Elynas then walk south to reach two Hydro Phantasms.
- The next enemy in the northern part of the island is actually called Ninianne of the Lake, Rift-Subduing Lake Spirit. Although it looks like the normal version of Hydro Phantasms, it’s much stronger with bigger HP and deadly attacks. So, make sure to equip the correct characters in Genshin Impact along with shielders like Zhongli or healers like Bennett.
West Slope Of Mont Automnequi
Moving on to the West Slope of Mont Automnequi, fast-travel to the Waypoint and descend the slope west to see one Tainted Hydro Phantasm and a Hydro Slime in Genshin Impact. Proceed southwest while following the dirt path to encounter two Hydro Phantasms along the shore.
Near The Court Of Fontaine
Numerous Tainted Hydro enemies are located around the northern part of the Court of Fontaine in Genshin Impact, and one of them is the second local legend.
- First, travel to the Waypoint west of the Court of Fontaine and go southwest to fight one Hydro Phantasm near the beach.
- Keep going in the same direction to encounter two more enemies guarding an Exquisite Chest.
- Go to the Waypoint near the Echoes of the Deep Tides Domain and turn northwest to find Vivianneof the Lake, Rift-Subduing Lake Spirit. The local legend is similar to Ninianne and players should follow the same tips. Bring a meta team in Genshin Impact to easily defeat it.
- Continue southeast towards the next Tainted Hydro Phantasm and take care of it.
- Now, Travelers may either swim above water or underwater northeast to reach two Tainted Hydro Phantasms.
- Finally, continue southeast to see the final Hydro Phantasm along the shore above Marcotte Station.
