Having not been seen since the Version 2.2 Update, Genshin Impact will soon bring back the ghost loving character Hu Tao. Plenty of other characters will also be available during the banner, but fans are especially looking forward to the return of Hu Tao since she's not been available for pulls since her initial debut. But the thing that draws fans of Genshin Impact to the character is more than just how rare she is. Hu Tao is known for being one of the strongest characters in the game, and so it makes sense that plenty of players want to get their hands on her since it has been so long since their last chance to do so.
Hu Tao's return coincides with both the 3.4 update that brings with it the inclusion of the Sumeru region into the game which will bring new characters, new missions, and the Dendro element on playable units, as well as the annual Lantern Rite Festival that takes place in the game every year to celebrate Lunar New Year. The Lantern Rite Festival, held in Liyue, also brings with it a variety of limited characters, prizes such as Primogems, and holiday specific quests that players can enjoy before the festival ends on February 7th, the same day that Hu Tao makes her return. Between these two events and all that comes with them, it should be a busy and exciting next few weeks for fans of the game.
Hu Tao's Limited Re-Release
The quiet prankster and Wangsheng Funeral Director may often find herself at odds with those around her for her strange ways, but she's been one of the most beloved and sought after characters in the game since her initial debut. The Pyro elemental Polearm user has a high risk high reward play style that, when mastered, makes Hu Tao one of the strongest playable characters. This, her unique abilities to turn her own low HP ststus into damage and summon spirits to aid her in battle, and her character design which expertly combines a cute impishness with otherwise macabre imagery make for a fan favorite character without her ever having to explain herself.
Although Developer HoYoverse has put in a great deal of effort since the games early days to limit leaks regarding Genshin Impact, many were already aware of a re-run for Hu Tao as a result of a Uncle Lu leak. And while there are many characters that fans are eager to see up for grabs again, Hu Tao was the most in need of a return. As she holds the record for the highest amount of updates that have passed since her last Banner run, the character's S-tier status means that many fans have been desperate to see her make a re-appearance, so they can add the impressive Pyro to their party.
While fans of the Funeral Director may already be plotting their builds for her, there is still some time before players will get their second chance at having Hu Tao on their team. Though far from the only exciting event fans of Genshin Impact can expect to see in the coming weeks, fan favor seems to rest squarely with Hu Tao. The Character's charm in cut scenes and power in combat hold the attention of dedicated players in a way that might not be shaken until they can play her for themselves. They can hope for the best and throw their all into nabbing the morbid cutie, because if they are so unfortunate as to miss her this time, there is no guarantee as to when or if fans can expect to see her next.
