Genshin Impact updates bring two banner cycles which feature different five-star and four-star characters and items. The game has a very frequent update schedule with each version lasting around six weeks, with many gamers used to the updates releasing on time.

Genshin Impact's official social media accounts have already confirmed the two characters that will arrive in the following Genshin Impact update 2.7 - Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. However, there is a chance that players might have to wait a little longer to acquire them, as multiple rumors claim that the upcoming Version 2.7 could get delayed.

A recent announcement on Bilibili mentioned that the Marvelous Merchandise will arrive after the Leyline Overflow event, which was originally planned to be the last event of the update. This and the current COVID-19 issues that Shanghai is facing has led a big part of the community to believe that Genshin Impact Version 2.6 could get extended. In a statement to Comicbook.com, a HoYoverse representative released the following statement: "We've also noticed some discussions among fans and players, and our team has been doing our best working on the game and future updates at this moment."

Genshin Impact character Yelan

The fact that HoYoverse is not dismissing the rumors means that there is a chance for them to be true. The first Genshin Impact banner has brought a brand-new character, Kamisato Ayato and Venti for the first banner phase. The second part of the update started on March 22, and it introduced the first banner re-run for Ayato's sister, the Cryo user Ayaka. According tot the in-game countdown, her banner is set to expire on May 10.

It would not come a surprise if HoYoverse decides to bring a third banner to update 2.6. Having a three banner cycle in one update has already happened once back in Genshin Impact update 1.3, where players had the option to pull for Xiao, Keqing, and Hu Tao. The third banner would most likely bring a re-run for an older character, and while many players want Arataki Itto to make a return, previous rumors have revealed that he will actually be a part of Genshin Impact update 2.7.

The current Genshin Impact 2.7 beta leaks have revealed a lot of information about the two upcoming characters, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. Both characters will be a good fit for the support role, but Yelan is expected to be a stronger character due to her five-star rarity. Leakers have claimed that Yelan will arrive on the first banner cycle, while players will have to wait for the second part of the update tu pull for Kuki Shinobu.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
