The Bunkoko Enigma is a World Quest hidden in Genshin Impact’s limited-time Three Realms Gateway Offering event. After unlocking Three Realms, players should speak to Sangonomiya Samurai “Yabe,” who is standing near the Dainichi Mikoshi Waypoint. Yabe will relay the story of Bunkoku’s Secret Treasure, and hand over a stone slate that he believes is connected to this prosperous legend. Collecting the stone slates is the key to solving Bunkoku’s Puzzle and unlocking the rumored riches.

  1. “Look for the clues based on the direction Yabe pointed out.” After speaking with Yabe, players should glide down through the gap of broken stone to the checkpoint and trigger “The Bunkoko Enigma.” Next, they'll need to pull the lever on the right wall. This prompts a cutscene contemplating the “strange markings” on the ceiling.
  2. “Trace the source of the sound and look for clues.” After exiting the room, players should climb to the next level of the structure. Hanging ivy indicates the easiest route of ascension throughout Genshin Impact’s tricky architecture.
  3. “Investigate the secret passage in front of you.” Here, players should interact with Paimon in front of the empty puzzle. The conversation confirms that 8 stone slates are needed in total to fill the puzzle threshold, and, since Yabe has already provided one, 7 stones slates remain.
  4. After speaking with Paimon, players can return and speak to Yabe, who'll mark each stone slate’s location on their map.

While this quest is selected, the Three Realms Enkanomiya map indicates three locations with increasingly problematic Corrosion Intensity. In order to proceed to the Corrosion Intensity 60 and Corrosion Intensity 105 areas, players should level up the Bokuso Box’s Corrosion Resistance before proceeding. Corrosion Resistance strengthens as players collect Light Realm Sigils from chests and redeem them at the Statue of the Vassals.

The first location in The Narrows requires an Electro character to solve an Electro Monument puzzle and an archer for a barrel challenge - Fischl is ideal. Players should approach the golden circle target indicator, where two Electro Monuments are locked. They'll then need to start the nearby Time Challenge: Collect 8 Electro Particles within 90 seconds.

This course leads players straight to the next Challenge: Blow up 5 Exploding Barrels within 45 seconds. Successfully completing these challenges rewards players with a pair of Exquisite Chests, and frees the previously jailed Electro Monuments. Activating all three Monuments with Electro attacks will unlock a third Exquisite Chest, opening a secret door to the library.

Upon entering the library, the first stone slate is visible immediately to the player's right. The second slate is nestled in the back left corner and can be easily spotted using Elemental Sight. Players can then ascend the staircase to grab the third stone slate, which is behind a tilted bookcase.

For Genshin Impact players that haven’t cleared the Three Realms event in its entirety, the next location has a Corrosion Intensity of 60. A Light Guiding Ceremony necessitates pulses from the Bokuso Box to activate the trigger, so it might be tricky to clear without fully Recuperating the box. Players will want both a Pyro and Cryo representative on their Genshin team for freezing and melting the Water Mirrors. Light rays pass through Water Mirrors and bounce off of Ice Mirrors.

Solve the mirror puzzle to lift the grate. Only two mirrors can be rotated, but every mirror may have the water frozen or melted to alter the trajectory of the light rays. Hitting the receptor furthest from the origin point generates an Exquisite Chest, while the receptor closest to the origin removes the grate.

The first mirror should be melted, while the rotating mirrors need to be frozen and made to face one another. For those having trouble, the video below should help.

Stone Slate Puzzle (First)

After solving the mirror puzzle, players should grab the Precious Chest and jump down into the chamber where another Light Guiding Ceremony awaits. This puzzle may require a bit more trial and error. Alternatively, players can check out the below video to see the solution for themselves.

Stone Slate Puzzle (Second)

Solving the second puzzle reveals an underground passage with a Common Chest and stone slate directly behind it. To the left is a watery pathway and another stone slate. Players can use Elemental Sight to quickly locate it, and should then move on to the final area.

Nabbing the final stone slates is thankfully a simple enough process. Players should head towards the golden circle indicator, descend into the underground chamber, and then follow the Electro Seelie. This friendly Seelie will lead players to the remaining slates - no puzzles required. There are two slates total, one on each stone pedestal. After players have collected them both, Paimon will announce the end of this particular quest and prompt the Traveler to return to the original chamber at Dainichi Mikoshi to assemble their prizes.
