Enemies in Genshin Impact come in a variety of forms, and with the introduction of the new region of Fontaine, Genshin Impact has added to its already growing list of mini-boss challenges. As a way for players to test out their character builds and strengths, there is a new group of Local Legends in Fontaine that players can challenge. These enemies fall under the mob category and are often susceptible to Overworld weaknesses, yet they are much tankier than the average enemy.

Luachra the Brilliant is an Underwater-only enemy - who is also part of the rest of the Underwater Local Legends that players surely have encountered during their exploration. Luachra is a tougher version of the new enemy introduced in Version 4.1, the Cherubic Sea Hare, which uses Cryo and Hydro infused attacks to subdue its enemy.

Where to Find Luachra, the Brilliant

Genshin Impact- Luachra the Brilliant Location

After players unlock the Liffey Region, they will be able to locate Luachra near the edge of the map in the underwater area. If players teleport to the waypoint south of the Millennial Pearl Seahorse Boss and swim northwest toward the edge of the map, they will be able to spot Luachra near some seagrass.

How to Defeat Luachra the Brilliant

Players should note that in order to successfully beat Luachra, they will have to equip the abilities of a nearby Xenochromatic Jellyfish. As with all underwater enemies, they can only deal damage with the help of the Xenochromatic animals. In the fight against Luachra, it would be more effective to use the Jellyfish within the vicinity as the ability allows Travelers to deploy bombs that can explode upon will and deal a lot of damage.

The battle can be a long one, but if players strategize their moves well - it can be over in a couple of minutes.

Tips & Tricks

Since navigating underwater can be a little strenuous with all the opposing forces, players can make use of the following tips that they can keep in mind throughout the duration of the fight.

Make Use of the Recovery Orbs

As underwater battles are a little different in Genshin Impact, the usual mechanism of eating to replenish health does not work as well on land. Usually, when characters are fed, they exert a certain amount of energy when fighting - thus, the amount of food they can be replenished by will increase and prevent them from reaching Maximum Fullness.

However, since character skills and attack movements do not work underwater and are instead replaced by the abilities of the Fontemer Aberrant, characters are more likely to reach Maximum Fullness faster since no energy is being used up or lost. This can be especially tricky to navigate through as shields cannot be used underwater either.

Players can navigate through this by making use of the Recovery Orbs surrounding the area where Luachra resides whenever they run low on health. They should also note that the Recovery Orbs restore all party members' HP to either 80% or 100% depending on their current health, and since there are only a few in the area, players should carefully use them instead of haphazardly swimming toward them when a single character in the party is on low health.

Time Attacks

There will be a moment in Luachra’s attack sequences where he will gear up for a charged attack to shoot at the player. Luachra will glow a bright purple and drive toward players; it is at this moment that Travelers should launch the Xenochromatic Jellyfish’s bombs. Deploying the bombs in the middle of its attack will deal extra damage to Luachra AND stun him - allowing the players to launch more bombs during this time.

In addition to this, since players do not have shields to carry them through brutal attacks, it would be best to keep a safe distance from Luachra so that Travelers can predict his moves. When players are at a reasonable distance from Luachra, the Hydro bubbles that he shoots move at a slower pace - making it easier for Travelers to dodge.

Moreover, since no specific elemental or physical abilities of characters work underwater, Travelers can go ahead and choose any team they feel comfortable with underwater. However, characters with extended stamina bars (tall male and female characters) and the swimming stamina reduction ability (Beidou and Sangonomiya Kokomi) could potentially help during the fight.

Once players complete the challenge, they will be awarded with a Hidden Achievement worth 5 Primogems and a Precious Chest. In addition to that, as Luachra is considered an Overworld enemy- it will not respawn within minutes like World Bosses. Players will have to wait until the Server Reset to challenge it again and receive any additional rewards they want, such as Adventure EXP.
