A recent revenue report reveals that Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail achieved impressive sales figures in February 2024. Both games run on a gacha system, which means that most of the revenue comes from players spending their real-life money to pull for limited characters and weapons.

February is always a busy month in the world of Teyvat as Genshin Impact hosts the annual Lantern Rite Festival, celebrating the Lunar New Year. During this time, Travelers can get many different characters and items for free by completing a set of simple event-exclusive tasks.

A Genshin Impact revenue chart shows impressive sales numbers accumulated during the previous limited banner that featured Xianyun and Gaming.

A Genshin Impact fan shared an interesting chart on Reddit that shows the February sales numbers for many different mobile games, including HoYoverse's two most popular titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. The data in the chart was taken from a credible business and digital economy website known as Sensor Tower. According to the chart, Genshin Impact's overall mobile revenue exceeded $89 million, with over 60% of the sales coming from the game's Chinese community. Many fans seemed surprised to see that Honkai: Star Rail came very close to overtaking Genshin with $85.8 million in revenue. A possible reason for Honkai: Star Rail's revenue success is the fact that it featured many popular characters in February, such as Kafka, Dr Ratio, Black Swan, and others.

Genshin Impact Revenue: January vs February

Compared to January, Genshin Impact's revenue dropped by around $10 million, which does not come as a surprise considering that Honkai: Star Rail's sales almost doubled, and the two games share a similar player base. Genshin fans can expect their March revenue to be even lower considering the banner placements. The first banner phase for Genshin Impact Version 4.5 will arrive on March 12, which means that the second banner won't be featured this month, which could impact its overall revenue numbers.

Many fans even claim that while they are excited about the release of the new Geo character Chiori, they will spend most of their Primogems on Neuvillette, the second character featured on the phase 1 banner for Version 4.5. Since his release in 4.1, Neuvillette has been widely regarded as the most powerful Hydro DPS in Genshin Impact.

Some Travelers might skip both characters to save up some Primogems for the next couple of updates, which will most likely introduce the long-awaited Harbinger known as Arlecchino. Genshin Impact's official livestream has confirmed that the second part of the update will feature two popular Inazuma characters, Arataki Itto and Kaedehara Kazuha.
