Chenyu Vale is a region in Genshin Impact’s nation of Liyue. The area was released with the Lantern Rite 4.4 update and introduces a new boss and characters for players to enjoy. The area is known for its deep connection to the adeptal realm and the many puzzles spread across the land.
Much like all regions in the game, Chenyu Vale has also received a fair number of hidden chests and puzzles that players can easily miss out on. There are a whopping 22 hidden chests throughout the region, most of which are on the aboveground map. You can follow this easy route to find all 22 chests and enjoy the additional primogems the game has to offer.
Genshin Impact: All Hidden Achievements in Fontaine Version 4.2 (Morte Region & Erinnyes Forest)
The Morte Region and Erinnyes Forest of Fontaine are filled with new hidden chests and achievements that Genshin Impact players can claim.
Hidden Chest 1
The first hidden chest can be found at the northeast edge of the region. If you teleport to the waypoint up there, simply run up along the coast until you come across some animals. There will be some dogs in the area, and the black and white one will have a ‘Dig’ annotation next to it. Click on the button to receive the chest.
Hidden Chest 2
You can teleport back to the same waypoint again in the northeast and run southwest toward the ruins. In the ruins, you’ll see some NPCs loitering around and a sumpter beast called Chili Pepper near a tent. There will be a ‘Dig’ sign that you can click on near the Jueyun Chili plant, and you’ll be able to get a common chest from that.
Hidden Chest 3
First, teleport to the Statue of Seven in Qiaoying Village and head west towards the docks. You will find a pelican there named Bandit, and after interacting with the bird, you will be given a piece of fish. After obtaining the piece of fish, head to the second location inside Qiaoying Village and find an orange cat named Sir Pouncealot south of the area.
After giving Sir Pouncealot the fish, simply follow him to a location under a tree, and you’ll find an Exquisite Chest.
Hidden Chest 4
The next chest is hidden deep in Qiaoying Village within the tea estate. Head north to the tea shrubbery, and you will find a 'Dig' sign to click on. The bush is directly opposite the staircase and there will be a small challenge to complete. After doing so, you be able to claim the hidden exquisite chest.
Hidden Chest 5
This hidden chest in Mt. Lingmeng is actually located on the roof of a hut. There will be some yellow orbs to collect, which, after doing so, will award players with a chest and a Spirit Orb. You can teleport to the waypoint across the cliff and fly southwest across the divide to reach the location.
Hidden Chest 6
This chest can be found north of Mt. Lingmeng, somewhat near the edge of the map. You can head to the teleport waypoint north of the mountain, near the road, and then fly across to reach the cliff on the other side.
There will be a Spirit Carp a couple of meters up in the air if you face north and angle your camera up towards the cliff. Grab onto it and fly across towards the group of animals you see near the edge of the cliff. Do not kill the animals. You only need to stand on the middle rock and witness these two goats share “their love” along with the squirrels. You will be able to claim a common chest right after.
Hidden Chest 7
The next hidden chest is also on the second hut on the western side of the same mountain. You can teleport to the waypoint directly perpendicular to it at the north end and just fly across as you did previously. However, be cautious, as for this one, there will be a group of squirrels having a small meeting. If you rush in too slowly, they will scramble away, and you’ll have to wait for the daily reset. So act fast and kill them all to obtain the Common Chest.
You can use Anemo characters to increase your SPD and a character like Aloy, who does not alert animals when the party is in the area.
Hidden Chest 8
This chest can be obtained at the bottom of the waterfall near Yilong Wharf. You can teleport to either of the two waypoints in the area and merely glide across to the right-hand side of the waterfall. You’ll notice a ripple in the water that is sparkling and has an “investigate” sign to click on. Once you click on it, you’ll be using a Spirit Carp to move up through the waterfall and toward the Common Chest that is waiting at the top.
Hidden Chest 9
This chest is a little further away as it is actually on an abandoned island towards the northern edge of the map. You can teleport to either the Yilong Wharf waypoint or the Upper Vale waypoint at the top of the cliff that you previously used. Both share the same distance to the island, where you’ll find the wreckage of a boat and an opportunity to dig for some treasure.
Hidden Chest 10
Yilong Wharf is one of the main cities in Chenyu Vale, and there is a hidden mechanism near an old man named Huang the Third. There will be a glowing dot near one of the poles, and the chest will only pop off if you stand on it. If you take too long to open the chest, it will disappear, and you’ll have to start all over again.
You can use Anemo characters like Xiao and Kazuha to help leap in the chest’s direction and open it fast enough.

Version 4.1 of Genshin Impact contains some unexpected chests that can go unnoticed by most players. If anything is out of the ordinary- it's a chest!
Hidden Chest 11
The next hidden chest is also inside Yilong Wharf, so you can just run through the area to reach the location. There will be 3 straw dummies lined up - 2 blue and 1 red. You need only hit the red one to trigger a fight with the Millelith in the area who wish to spar. Defeat all of them to receive a chest.
Hidden Chest 12
The next few chests can be found on Mt. Mingyuan along the stretch of a cliff. You can teleport to the central waypoint at the top of the mountain and glide west to the second cliff you see. There will be a few goats lurking around with one special goat standing next to the money rock. Simply investigate that money rock to trigger a small challenge. You only have to burst some Anemo slimes in the air to receive the chest.
Hidden Chest 13
After completing that challenge, turn around and head south on the map towards another cliff. There you will find a Treasure Hoarder standing over a sand pile. Just defeat him to obtain the chest below.
Hidden Chest 14
The next hidden chest will then be north of the previous location and closer to the edge of the land. There will be a small area of sand where you will see a bubble (similar to the ones in Apam Woods in Sumeru).
Genshin Impact: All Ancient Teacup Locations (Long Days In The Realm Within Achievement)
Long Days in the Realm Within is an achievement in Genshin Impact that appears after players activate four ancient teacups in Chenyu Vale.
Popping the bubble will spawn some more bubbles. You only need to pop the bubbles that are on the land and the individual one on top of the stone. Forget about the bubble in the water and defeat the Hydro Boar that spawns after the chest is awarded. There might be different hydro mimic animals that spawn, varying from player to player.
After you claim the treasures in the chest, there will be another bubble directly in front of you. If you pop it and follow the next one, it will create a Spirit Carp point to help you navigate the mountain easily for future exploration.
Hidden Chest 15
This chest can also be found south of Mt. Mingyuan near a group of boar. Teleport to the waypoint shown above and fly down to the sandpit that the boars are surrounding. You just need to interact with it a couple of times and a ‘dig’ sign should soon show up.
Hidden Chest 16
To reach this chest, head west from the previous point, and you’ll find two Treasure Hoarders near the bottom of a mountain. They will be near a run-down area, so just defeat them and investigate the sand pile to receive a chest.
Hidden Chest 17
Near Chizhang Wall, this chest is actually at the top of a cliff southwest of the area. You can teleport to the Statue of Seven in the area and head south towards the small cliff. At the top, there will be a Simulacrum behind a pot of boiling water. Just place some sweet flowers in the pot, and you’ll receive a chest.
Hidden Chest 18
Since the next chest is within the area, you need only glide down the mountain toward the edge of the region. You will find three Pyro flowers near the water that will need to be harvested. Shoot each of them using either Cryo or Hydro element, and some Pyro slimes will spawn. Defeat them to receive a chest.
Hidden Chest 19
You can teleport back to the Statue of Seven at Chizhang Wall and then head northwest towards another cliff. There will be a Spirit Carp in the air to assist you in getting up, and you will find an Ancient Timber piece. Just interact with it and you’ll receive a Luxurious Chest.
Hidden Chest 20
This is the Hilichurl loot chest near the bank of the river. Glide down to the location and defeat them before interacting with the sand pile the Hilichurls were crowded around.
Hidden Chest 21
This second-last chest is at the docks near Teatree Slope. From the main teleport waypoint in the area, you can head northwest to the docks and find a brown dog. Once you feed it some fowl, it’ll guide you to an area where there will be a chest to dig up.
Hidden Chest 22
The final chest is located in Yaodie Valley on a cliff. There will be a Sweet Flower that needs to be interacted with, but a Xuanwen Beast will be in front of it. You only need to defeat the beast, and a Pyro Flower will automatically pop up from the ground. Defeat it to receive a chest.
