Travelers have had quite the Genshin Impact month, with the arrival of Version 1.1 and long-awaited five-star characters like Zhongli. The recent Unreconciled Stars event also provided engaging new challenges to undertake while introducing characters like Scaramouche, but now that it's come and gone, players are left awaiting the next batch of time-based content.

Though players already know they can probably expect Version 1.2 before the new year, and will likely see Version 1.3 shortly thereafter in the Spring, many of the smaller details remain unconfirmed. Genshin Impact fans already speculate that several new characters will be joining the playable roster, and leakers have recently begun finding traces of potential intermediary events, so it's unsurprising that miHoYo might have an announcement like today's concerning the game's upcoming Gliding Challenge.

The leakers dedicated to miHoYo's latest hit have been rather active lately, to say the least. Rumors of Genshin Impact cosmetic items, new events, curveball characters, and entirely new regions, have all been circulating the forums, and as December approaches, their authenticity grows hotly contested. Thankfully, it seems that at least some of the recent miHoYo rumors have been reliable, given that this Gliding Challenge (and another mysterious event) are soon coming to the game.

The upcoming event features a brand new traveling NPC, Hughes. As per miHoYo's tweet, Hughes is a gliding enthusiast who apparently knows some lovely "gliding spots." From December 4, until December 14, 2020, he will offer players the chance to complete challenges in exchange for rewards that include Talent Ascension Materials, mora, Primogems, and Hero's Wit EXP materials. While the Unreconciled Stars event that just concluded was more of a narrative-driven multi-pronged event, it seems that the Gliding Challenge will be more akin to the Marvelous Merchandise event. That is, fun and simple(r) tasks that reward simpler rewards, over the course of several days.

If recent Genshin Impact event claims are accurate (which this announcement seems to indicate), then the Gliding Challenge will be comprised of exactly seven different "tracks," and rewards will vary depending on the player's completion time, and total number of "tokens" collected mid-glide. The aforementioned Genshin Impact leak suggests a food delivery event too, which makes sense, given the mysterious announcement towards the end of miHoYo's tweet: "the 'While It's Warm' event is also coming soon!"

Fans have been quick to point out that food must often be delivered "while it's warm," so the leading theory is that this upcoming event is the leaked food delivery service event, which apparently grants Primogems in exchange for the Traveler's food delivery service. Especially in light of the release of Teyvat Times Issue No. 1, players should be sure to put in their best efforts, lest they be remembered as the "Player Who Failed the Most Food Deliveries!" in miHoYo's next issue.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
