Genshin Impact's version 3.7 update focuses primarily on the Genius Invokation TCG rather than introducing significant changes to the actual gameplay of the game. This approach is unique and different from what players are accustomed to. While the update includes usual gameplay elements such as events and a new Dendro character named Kirara from Inazuma, the main emphasis remains on the TCG with the introduction of numerous new cards. As a result, players can anticipate shifts in team compositions and the meta, as the diverse range of added cards opens up new strategic possibilities and encourages creative team building.

Alongside other character cards, players now have access to the character cards of the Archons from the existing four regions, including Raiden Shogun's card. Similar to her role in Genshin Impact's gameplay, Raiden Shogun can serve as an excellent battery character in the TCG, generating energy for her allies while also summoning to deal additional Electro damage and buff elemental burst damage for the characters. Since her burst becomes stronger after other characters have utilized their Bursts, players can expect her to unleash significant damage if utilized effectively.

Raiden Shogun Card & Skills

The Raiden Shogun card can be easily obtained by using Match Invitation Letters and inviting her to a Friendly Faracas duel in the Cat's Tail Tavern. It's worth noting that there is no specific level requirement to invite any of the new characters, despite the introduction of plenty of new content and additional NPC duels. Since players will need a significant amount of Ancient Coins to obtain each new card and their respective cosmetics, it is recommended to pay attention to these duels. Winning the match rewards players with the Raiden Shogun card, and completing additional objectives allows them to obtain her Talent card as well.

Raiden Shogun's Talent Card: Wishes Unnumbered

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Raiden Shogun Talent Card

Raiden Shogun's Talent card can be a valuable addition to teams that prioritize her own damage output, especially when aiming to activate her Burst frequently, preferably after activating the Bursts of other team members. While using this card allows Raiden to deal +1 additional DMG based on the number of resolves, it may not be the most optimal choice if players also need to focus on other character's talent cards and additional action cards. However, if players decide to prioritize Raiden Shogun's burst, it has the potential to deal up to 9 damage with full resolve stacks, without relying on elemental reactions. This amount of damage is significant and can potentially eliminate most opponents in a single hit.

Best Raiden Shogun Decks

Considering Raiden Shogun's significant strength, she is a valuable addition to teams that prioritize the quick and frequent utilization of Elemental Bursts. She can be easily incorporated into various team compositions based on the other characters players wish to utilize. It is important to note that she synergizes particularly well with the Electro resonance card, "Elemental Resonance: High Voltage." If players are fortunate with their dice and card draws, they can even activate her Burst in the first round, setting the stage for other character cards to Burst in subsequent turns. Therefore, while the teams can be versatile, it is recommended to prioritize having at least 2 Electro characters, and ideally 2 Inazuma characters, to enhance dice management possibilities.

Raiden Shogun + Keqing + Kokomi

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Raiden Keqing Kokomi

This team composition aims to maximize piercing damage by utilizing Electro-charged reactions and Keqing's Elemental Burst while dealing significant single target damage each turn as well. Depending on the available cards, players can choose to start with either Keqing and then swap to Raiden Shogun, or begin directly with Raiden Shogun to quickly activate her Burst.

While Kokomi is the sole Hydro character and may need to be swapped out, her Burst and skill can be given lower priority until the team has sustained significant damage. Alternatively, players can consider replacing Kokomi with Mona, but this would require omitting the use of the Thunder and Eternity card, and instead focusing more on support cards that restore HP to keep the team alive.

Raiden Shogun + Yae Miko + Nahida

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Raiden Yae Nahida

Similar to the previous team composition, a team consisting of Raiden, Yae Miko, and Nahida can also deal piercing damage by utilizing Nahida's Elemental Skill's effect. With all of these characters requiring only 2 energy for their Bursts, players can easily unleash high amounts of Dendro and Electro damage, especially considering their generally powerful Burst abilities that are further amplified by the Quicken reaction. It is important to prioritize the Bursts of Raiden and Nahida in this composition, while Yae Miko takes on a supportive role. If players plan to utilize Yae Miko more frequently, they may consider summoning her totem before activating her Burst to increase her damage output.

Raiden Shogun + Sara + Zhongli

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Raiden Sara Zhongli

Unlike the other two compositions, this team composition does not heavily rely on elemental reactions, aside from the crystallize reaction provided by Zhongli to enhance the team's defensive capabilities. Instead, this team focuses on summons, with all of the characters having the ability to summon, although this may make them vulnerable to certain card effects.

However, with Sara's ability to boost Electro reactions, Raiden Shogun takes the spotlight as the primary character on the field, supported by Zhongli and Sara for summons and bursts whenever possible. This team composition is more suitable for players who prefer a slower-paced playstyle and may be advantageous when facing enemies that already have elemental applications, such as some boss opponents, allowing the team to benefit from elemental reactions as well.

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Best Action Cards 2

Alongside the Electro Resonance cards and Thunder and Eternity, players are recommended to utilize a range of cards that promote frequent character swapping, such as Katheryne or Changing Shifts. Additionally, cards that assist with dice management, like Varanara or The Bestest Travel Companion card, are highly recommended to ensure players can consistently use their bursts without having to wait another turn due to lack of the correct element or insufficient dice. Furthermore, incorporating a variety of Food Action cards, such as healing food, can be advantageous, particularly if the team composition does not include a dedicated healer. Starsigns can also be beneficial in team compositions that lack two Electro characters but still benefit from increased energy generation.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
