As the Sumeru arc comes to a close, the release of Genshin Impact's version 3.8 update introduces a new limited-event area for players to explore as part of the annual summer event. This exciting location offers enjoyable quests and generous rewards. While the previous version, 3.7, made a significant impact by introducing a plethora of new cards to the Genius Invokation TCG, fans of this mini-game mode can rejoice, as the latest patch continues to expand the card pool with the addition of Candace, Kaedehara Kazuha, and Yanfei. Each character brings unique abilities to the table, allowing for new strategies and dynamic team compositions that keep the TCG fresh and the meta ever-changing.

It showcases her ability to generate shields, providing a more defensive approach to gameplay. Additionally, her card allows for the infusion of physical damage from melee-focused characters into Hydro, creating numerous opportunities to trigger elemental reactions in the TCG. While players already have access to several characters capable of applying Hydro, Candace offers a distinct method of doing so.

Candace Card & Skills

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation Candace Card Details

Acquiring Candace's cards is as straightforward as it is for many other characters introduced in previous patches. Players simply need to invite Candace to a match at the Cat's Tail using a Match Invitation Letter. By emerging victorious in the duel, they will obtain Candace's character card. Additionally, if players complete the other two objectives, they will also obtain her talent card. For those who are eager to collect Match Invitation Letters for their favorite characters, the Forge Realm's Temper game mode provides an excellent opportunity. By actively participating in this mode and accumulating currency, players can acquire a sufficient number of Match Invitation Letters. This, in turn, grants them the ability to unlock additional character cards and expand their deck possibilities.

Candace's Talent Card: The Overflow

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Candace Talent Card

Candace's Talent Card primarily focuses on enhancing her Elemental Burst by providing additional Hydro DMG after normal attacks. This ensures a more consistent Hydro application, even if players are unable to infuse Hydro attacks by swapping characters or using skills immediately after. However, it's important to note that this Talent card requires spending 4 Dice instead of the usual 3 Dice for her Elemental Burst, which may not be ideal. While it does have its advantages, unless players intend to use Candace as the Hypercarry, it may not be as essential as other characters' talent cards.

Best Candace Decks

With her support abilities and DPS potential, Candace can fulfill various roles within a team composition. Players can utilize her in Stall decks or decks that aim to maximize the potential of Hydro reactions, making her highly versatile and allowing for pairing with numerous other characters. It's important to note, however, that she can only infuse melee weapons' normal attacks, specifically swords, polearms, and claymores. Therefore, she is best suited for pairing with characters who wield these types of weapons. Additionally, it's worth considering that she does not synergize well with characters who already possess their own elemental infusion abilities, such as Hu Tao, Ayaka, or Keqing.

Candace + Kaeya + Shenhe

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Candace Kaeya Shenhe

Candace's ability to infuse the physical attacks of characters like Kaeya and Shenhe with Hydro makes this team a great choice for players interested in a Frozen deck. With the effective Cryo application abilities of both Kaeya and Shenhe, whether on-field or off-field, players can consistently freeze their opponents by activating the Elemental Skills and Elemental Bursts of all the characters.

Additionally, Candace's shielding abilities complemented by Kaeya's Talent card, which provides healing, enhance the team's defensive capabilities. Furthermore, Shenhe's offensive support abilities, which increase the damage from Cryo DPS, are valuable for quickly defeating opponents and disrupting their combos through freezing.

Candace + Xiangling + Kazuha

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Candace Xiangling Kazuha

Candace and Xiangling together offer an excellent opportunity to create a Vaporize deck that is not commonly seen compared to decks featuring characters like Hu Tao and Xingqui. In this composition, both characters can make use of Candace's Hydro Infusion ability, while Xiangling's Pyronado ability synergizes particularly well with this mechanic, allowing for multiple instances of Vaporize damage in a single round. Additionally, Kazuha can serve as a crowd control character, disrupting opponent combos with his Swirl ability, which forces opponents to switch to other characters.

This not only disrupts their strategy but also enhances elemental application with the Swirl effect, setting up the field for potential elemental reactions if opponents switch characters. Lastly, Kazuha's Elemental DMG buff provides an added benefit, making battles even faster. Players can also effectively utilize Candace's Talent Card in this composition by timing it well, ensuring that the last application is Hydro. This can prove beneficial when, during the end turn, Xiangling's Guoba ability deals Pyro damage, resulting in significant additional damage.

Candace + Zhongli + Stonehide Lawachurl

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Candace Zhongli Stonehide Lawachurl

For players seeking the ultimate defensive stall deck, a team composition featuring Candace, Zhongli, and Stonehide Lawachurl can yield remarkable results. In this scenario, the focus is not solely on Candace's elemental infusion, but rather her shielding capabilities, as the deck does not heavily rely on elemental reactions apart from Crystallize.

However, this aspect can still be advantageous for generating additional shields, especially considering Zhongli's ability to create exceptionally strong shields. It is worth noting that while Zhongli can infuse his normal attacks with Hydro, Stonehide Lawachurl, being a monster card, will not possess this ability. Nonetheless, despite its defensive nature, the deck can deliver significant damage through the powerful attacks of both Zhongli and Stonehide Lawachurl, even without heavily relying on elemental reactions.

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Best Action Cards 2

Given the versatility of Candace's card, players have the flexibility to explore various options while prioritizing versatile cards that generally complement most team compositions. As a character capable of generating shields and excelling in stall decks, Candace can greatly benefit from cards that provide additional utility upon shielding or enhance normal attacks, as they hold significant potential within her team compositions.

Alternative choices for Candace decks involve incorporating cards that facilitate efficient character swapping, particularly in team compositions featuring Kaeya alongside Candace. While normal attacks typically require less dice management compared to skill cards, cards like Timmie, Varanara, or The Bestest Travel Companion can still prove useful. It's worth mentioning that the previously mentioned deck examples greatly benefit from activating Elemental Bursts as quickly as possible, making energy-generating cards like Starsigns valuable additions to enhance overall performance.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
