Genshin Impact's Genius Invokation TCG is an exciting game mode released in 3.3, offering players a unique and thrilling experience that requires careful tactical planning and a bit of luck to consistently win. Players must strategically employ elemental reactions and character kits to gain an advantage, similar to the actual gameplay - requiring a well-coordinated team, and action cards. Luckily, this mode is completely free of Gacha aspects, meaning that players can obtain every card available through some grinding.

In Genshin Impact version 3.4, TCG received an update where certain cards, including Yoimiya, were nerfed. However, two new character cards were also added to make up for these changes: Klee and Beidou. Beidou can be considered a new Electro support/sub-DPS unit in the TCG due to her ability to generate shield and provide off-field Electro application with her burst active. If the burst is inactive, Beidou will still be able to provide delayed additional damage, when on-field which can make a difference in combat. This makes her a great addition to Electro-reaction focused teams alongside Fischl.

Beidou's Talent Card: Lightning Storm

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Beidou Talent Card

While Beidou's Talent Card is not necessarily essential to include in the deck, it can be a useful slot-filler if players are unsure how to fill their deck further. Furthermore, although Beidou's Elemental Skill can be beneficial due to its shield and electro application, using Beidou's talent card and following up with normal attacks that require fewer dice can allow her to quickly build her energy, enabling her burst to be activated sooner.

Best Beidou Decks

Beidou is an excellent support character for many team compositions, and can also dish out significant damage. She is best utilized in Overloaded, Superconduct and Quicken decks, where her abilities can be used to the fullest potential.

Beidou + Collei + FischlGenshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Beidou Collei Fischl

This deck composition offers a slower gameplay style in the form of a stall-deck, with limited damage potential early on. However, Fischl and Collei both deploy summons to do damage even when they are off-field, meaning the opponent will be taking damage every turn. Beidou's ability to generate a protective shield makes it easier to utilize her in this slow-paced game style, as she has high sustain while dealing damage.

Additionally, Collei and Fischl do not need to rely on burst damage, allowing them to focus on refreshing their summons while sticking to Beidou for most of the rounds. Losing Beidou early on can make it harder to recover, but luckily Beidou's Elemental Skill provides an excellent self-defense option.

A general opening combo for the first turn should focus on opening with either Collei or Fischl, depending on the Action cards in the player's hand. As Collei will be the catalyst for the Quicken reaction, players should ensure to activate both her elemental skill and Fischl's by the end of the first turn. Afterward, players can swap to Beidou to take advantage of her strong on-field kit.

Beidou + Razor + Chongyun

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Beidou Razor Chongyun

Superconduct decks in Genshin Impact's Genius Invokation TCG may not appear attractive at first glance, but with all these characters being capable of dealing powerful blows with the Wolf's Gravestone Card, players can build a full-front, burst-focused team. Chongyun will convert all physical damage to Cryo, which can be advantageous as Superconduct in Genius Invokation not functioning the same as its reaction in the actual gameplay. In the TCG, superconduct reaction causes additional damage to the target character and 1 Piercing DMG to all other opposing characters, making it ideal against shield decks and slowly reducing the HP of non-active characters.

In an ideal opening combo, players can start with Chongyun's Elemental Skill and then quickly swap to Beidou, following up with her Elemental Skill (or her talent card). After this point, players can swap between her Normal attack and Elemental Skill for consistent application of both Cryo and Electro damage until Beidou's burst is ready. For the majority of the battle, swapping to Razor is not usually required unless in a dire pinch.

Beidou+ Klee + Fischl

The addition of Klee and Beidou to the TCG lineup provides players with the ability to create a brand new Overload-centric deck, adding to the previously limited Genius Invokation TCG options. This build is capable of dealing impressive damage and disrupting the opponent's strategy due to its recurring overload effects. To make the most of these advantages, players should begin by building Beidou's energy and utilizing Electro-resonance cards to generate extra die and energy.

Additionally, players can make use of quick-swap cards to apply Klee's Pyro on-field more often, allowing for more combos and synergies. Lastly, Fischl can be used to apply Electro from off-field at the end of the turn to further enhance the strength of the deck. However, this is usually unnecessary unless Beidou is defeated.

An ideal start for this deck may be to use Beidou's Elemental Skill to apply Electro to the foe, then follow with her normal attack or Elemental Skill until her energy is at maximum. When Beidou's energy is full, her Burst should be activated to increase damage, then Klee should be brought in on the second round. This may take a while to get going, but the damage potential after Beidou's Burst is activated is worth it, as this shows the true strength of this character.

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Action Cards

Beidou decks offer high burst damage potential, making cards such as Starsigns an excellent choice to gain Energy quickly in the game. As Beidou is an Electro character, taking advantage of Electro resonance cards can further help with managing dice and energy.

It is essential to include some of the popular action cards such as "The Bestest Travel Companion" or "Leave It To Me" that allow for a quick swap and additional dice control, which can significantly improve gameplay. Although Beidou has her elemental skill to protect herself, decks like the above lack any healing potential, making healing-focused cards a must against some opponents.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
