Developer miHoYo has been introducing banner re-runs very frequently to the world of Genshin Impact, and it seems as though every update consists of two banners, a new character, and a banner a re-run. The official live stream for update 2.3 has revealed the content players will see in the following update, including two banner re-runs as well as two new playable characters - Itto and Gorou.

Genshin Impact 2.3 will be the first update to introduce a double banner re-run, which means that players will have the chance to opt for two banners at the same time. This is miHoYo's way of compensating for the absence of a brand new five-star character in a certain banner cycle. The double banner will arrive in the first cycle, and it will feature Eula and Albedo, which means that players can already start building the right Genshin Impact team composition for these characters.

An interesting leak on the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit has revealed additional information about future updates. The leak was originally posted a couple of months ago and many players considered it to be fake since it stated that both Eula and Albedo will be part of the same banner which has not happened in the game yet.

After the Genshin Impact 2.3 Livestream event, miHoYo confirmed the double banner with those two characters which gives credibility to the leak. The leak also states that Ganyu and Xiao will be featured on a new double banner in update 2.4 which should arrive on January 3, 2022. The second banner of the update will probably bring a brand new character by the name of Shenhe who is rumored to be a Catalyst user. Her Vision is still unknown but going by her appearance, she could become the first Cryo Catalyst character in the game.

Ganyu has certainly become one of the most popular characters in the game as she's widely considered as one of the strongest DPS characters in the game alongside Eula and Xiao. While other DPS characters like Hu Tao or Diluc can't exist in a vacuum and some of the strongest supports in Genshin Impact to apply Elemental reactions, Ganyu can work independently in dishing out tons of damage. The same thing can be said about Xiao, who has one of the most unique playstyles in the game.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
