Genshin Impact has lots of different regions to explore, with more to come in the future. The last region to be released in Genshin Impact was the hydro region, Fontaine, and with Fontaine came a brand-new soundtrack. Fontaine’s soundtrack is spectacular, from the serene music players will hear while exploring underwater to the peaceful melodies heard in areas such as Beryl and Belleau.

There are many amazing songs in Genshin Impact, from beautiful melodies to powerful battle music that empowers the player during battle. Unlike other regions, the battle music in Fontaine takes it up a notch in one fascinating way, and that’s by giving the sense that the player is dancing in a musical instead of simply fighting a horde of enemies.

Genshin Impact is an incredibly popular game with a lot of potential for a myriad of spin-off games that could explore a multitude of elements.

Fontaine’s Battle Music is Unlike Other Regions’ Music

The Battle Music in Fontaine is Reminiscent of a Dance

When fighting in Fontaine, the battle music can invoke the sense that the player isn’t just fighting a horde of enemies, but that they are dancing. Fighting in general can sometimes be seen as a dance, especially combat styles such as sword fighting, martial arts, and other different styles. There is lots of amazing battle music in Fontaine, from Rondeau des Fleurs et des Rapieres, which flows perfectly when playing as a sword user such as Kaedehara Kazuha or Keqing, to Lamentation et Triomphe, which naturally flows with the elements of a battle and thus making combat a more fun and exciting activity.

With most of the music in Fontaine being written in French, Rondeau des Fleurs et des Rapieres translates to Roundel of Flowers and Rapiers and Lamentation et Triomphe translates to Lament and Triumph.

Fast Combat Flows Like a Dance in Genshin Impact's Fontaine

Genshin Impact has many varieties of characters that use different forms of combat. Some use swords while others use polearms, claymores, bows, and even catalysts (which come in various forms). However, the battle music in Fontaine flows very well with characters that use fast combat, such as Genshin Impact’s Kaedehara Kazuha.

It is especially satisfying when playing as a character who is fast in combat when the battle starts, and Fontaine’s dramatic and musical-sounding music starts playing. It could even be argued that some players might even seek out battle just to hear these songs flow perfectly in tandem with the graceful flurry of swords, which is no surprise considering the word rapier is in the name of one of the songs.

Other Regions’ Battle Music Doesn’t Give the Same Sense of a Dance That Fontaine Does

There are plenty of regions in Genshin Impact’s Teyvat, and they all have amazing music, but the others don’t seem to invoke the same sense of a dance in combat that Fontaine does. Although there are some very powerful songs found in other regions that empower the player and give them the inspiration to pursue the fight and gain the rewards of defeating foes, it’s not the same as hearing and seeing the fight blending with the music in an almost dance-like fight, like seemingly intentional choreography that Devil May Cry 5 often accomplishes. Even though a character’s combat style doesn’t change with the region, the battle music makes all the difference.

Of course, with regions in Genshin Impact, the music tends to resemble the traditional music of the region’s real-life inspiration. Other regions excel well with other forms of music, such as Genshin Impact's Sumeru providing a tranquil soundtrack that is truly calming. No matter what, Genshin Impact will always be known as a game that introduces amazing soundtracks and their composers are certainly not afraid to experiment by blending different genres of music to achieve that.
