Genshin Impact fans have noticed a common sequence of events in every region in the game. At the moment, only four of these regions are part of the game's explorable terrain: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru. With the whole Sumeru story arc coming to an end, it's time for Aether and Lumine to head to a new main nation.
According to various rumors, this nation is expected to be the Hydro region, better known as Fontaine. This was also teased by one of Genshin Impact's earliest story teasers in which Fontaine and its Archon Quest appeared as the fourth major region.
A Reddit user named AccomplishedCress875 has started an interesting discussion on the official Genshin Impact subreddit with a post that gathered over 3k upvotes. They pointed out that in every region so far, the Traveler has been saved by an Anemo character, which is a pattern that could repeat in Fontaine. In Mondstadt, Venti tried to protect the main character from Signora, also known as Rosalyne, who was one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers at the time. While creating an elemental shield to protect himself and the Traveler from a blizzard-like attack, Venti's legs got frozen which allowed Signora to overpower him and eventually take his Gnosis.
The second image shows Xiao helping Aether during the main fight in Liyue's archon quest in which the region's mightiest warriors faced up against the ancient god known as Osial. During this fight, the monster unleashed a barrage of Hydro attacks which broke some parts of the famous Jade Chamber, and the main character was launched off the platform. Using his Anemo powers, Xiao managed to save the Traveler and Paimon and take them to safety.
The Anemo user Kaedehara Kazuha protected the two main characters from arguably the most powerful character in Inazuma, the Electro Archon Raiden Shogun. Finally, during the latest Archon Quest, the former Fatui Harbinger Scaramouche saved Paimon and the main character from a devastating Electro beam. This was also the moment when he received his Anemo vision and became known as the Wanderer.
A lot of replies in the comment section claim that they are excited to see which character will have a similar interaction with the Traveler in the Fontaine region. There is not a lot of information about the Hydro region other than that it values justice above all. Recent Genshin Impact leaks have revealed the models of three new characters: Neuvillette, Lyney, and Lynette.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
