One of the many collectibles hidden throughout Genshin Impact are small, lost green spirits. Players must generally help these orbs of light, otherwise known as Seelie, find their ways back home.

Each Seelie in Genshin Impact resides in its own pillar or statue, resembling a small teleport waypoint. Once inhabited by a Seelie, the statues' heads glow green like the spirits and trigger a nearby reward. Sometimes players are tasked with helping multiple Seelie before a chest appears, but nonetheless, Seelie will always gift players after being helped back to their statues.

Updated on November 28, 2021, by Scott Vengel: Once again, Genshin Impact continues to surprise the gaming world with its widespread popularity. The revenue of Genshin Impact hasn't even begun to diminish as they enter their 2.3 updates today, as they offer an additional character event banner (now featuring both Albedo and Eula reruns.) A major component of miHoYo's success remains its endless delivery of new content each and every month, from character to new mechanics. While a large portion of these new mechanics comes in the form of new puzzles in Inazuma, players will find the occasional Mondstadt-variety Seelie on their travels in the new land. As such, to better help new players, this article will be updated to add clarity and new Seelie varients.

Finding Seelies With Elemental Vision

Although there are a plethora of Seelie tucked away throughout Teyvat, the spirits help a player out by remembering their ways home. That is to say, once a player finds a Seelie, they simply need to keep following it until it guides itself and the player back to its statue. Unfortunately, players who find an empty statue before the Seelie will find themselves wondering where the spirit is hiding.

In pursuit of these Seelie, one observant player has shared a discovery regarding a new use for the game's often forgotten "Elemental Vision" feature. Toggled by touching a button found on the player radar, Elemental Vision allows players to see hidden traces of Elemental magic in Genshin Impact. Players can't use this while walking or it deactivates, and only certain quests truly require the ability, so many tend to forget it exists. That being said, Elemental Vision has a barely-mentioned bonus feature.

If a player uses Elemental Vision near an empty Seelie statue, they will be able to see traces of the Seelie's magic pointing in their direction. Given all of these green wisps are found within close proximity of their empty statues, this should come as a relief to players tired of looking for missing Genshin Impact treasure chests. Simply approach an empty statue, activate Elemental Vision, and rotate the camera until Seelie traces are visible.

Other Tips For Finding Seelies

Once spotted, players can follow the general direction of the "footsteps" until they see a floating Seelie. Seelies hold the key to various different treasure chests and challenges across Teyvat, such as the notorious Cecilia Garden puzzle, so players will find themselves hunting down the critters more often than not. They also resemble Anemoculus from a distance (though much smaller), so if anything they'll keep players on high alert for the game's hidden treasures. In addition, should the player lose track of the Seelie at any point in its journey, then the Seelie will return to its original position after a short period of time.

In addition, there are a few other qualities that Seelies have that can help Genshin Impact fans find them. For one, Seelies have a distinct chime-like sound that can be heard when players travel near them. While Elemental Vision location is far more efficient, players will find this approach to be very helpful when Seelies are particularly hidden from view.

For example, Seelies sometimes will hide in everyday objects. These can range from bushes to large boulders, like a particularly pesky Seelie located on Stormerbearer Point in Mondstadt. Located in a breakable boulder on the point near the tower, players might find locating the hidden Seelie particularly difficult with Elemental Vision only. However, using sound location, Genshin Impact players can use a metal detector-like strategy to locate its precise location.

Electro Seelies

Another tricky variety of the traditional Seelie located in Inazuma, Electro Seelies may also give Genshin Impact players trouble in their full exploration goals. Using quick movements and unusual paths, it's not uncommon for players to lose Electro Seelies when looking for them. At that, unlike traditional Seelies located in Mondstadt and Liyue, Electro Seelies lack a statue rather than making their own when they reach their destination. Players should be aware of this while exploring Inazuma.

Genshin Impact is available now on mobile devices, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
