A Genshin Impact fan celebrated his birthday with a special birthday cake themed after the game's Sumeru region and beloved characters. Genshin Impact will soon launch its first major update for 2023 to expand the Sumeru region and reintroduce its yearly Lantern Rite event in Liyue Harbor.

Genshin Impact version 3.0 introduced the Sumeru region this past August to continue the Traveler and Paimon's journey across Teyvat. Players would soon meet Nahida, the Dendro Archon of Sumeru, and discover a new Fatui threat with sacred knowledge involving the state of the world. Throughout the course of the Sumeru story, the Traveler and Paimon would make valuable allies such as Alhaitham, Cyno, Collei, and Tighnari to combat the region's most immediate threat, Scaramouche. Although Scaramouche failed in his endeavor, he turned over a new leaf to become the Wanderer, a new ally who came to terms with his tragic past.

Reddit user LGFelix celebrated his 25th birthday with a Sumeru themed birthday cake featuring decorations of popular Genshin Impact characters. The fan's name, Luis G. Felix, can be read on a Sumeru tree decoration placed on top of the cake. Additionally, a Genshin Impact achievement decoration is placed on the side of the cake, which reads "Achievement Completed" for reaching 25 years of age. Characters such as Nahida, the Traveler, Paimon, Tighnari, and Nilou may be seen celebrating together in chibi-style cake decorations.

The birthday cake's frosting and supporting decorations are themed after the vast Sumeru forest region. For example, the dark green frosting represents Sumeru's lush grass while the other light green and blue shades reference many of the region's waterways and rainforests. Additionally, several custom-made Genshin Impact accessories are shown beside the cake such as a Dendro vision and a Tighnari charm.

LGFelix's Sumeru birthday cake is an incredible culinary work that faithfully represents Genshin Impact and its fan-favorite characters. At the same time, the cake may be seen as an amazing display of Genshin Impact's loyal player base and continued support since the game's launch in 2020. HoYoverse should consider cakes like this for fan-focused events such as HoYoFair.

Fans may look forward to more content in Sumeru when Genshin Impact version 3.4 launches on January 18. The impending update includes the playable debut of Alhaitham and Yaoyao, new quests, limited-time events, and much more.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Switch version is currently in development.
