For many players, the introduction of housing in Genshin Impact is a big deal. Players can finally have their own little slice of Teyvat to decorate how they see fit, and it offers a place for characters not currently in their party to hang out. For those that just got the Serenitea Pot, they are no doubt excited to get to work on customizing its contents, but players will first need to know how to enter. Once inside, exiting has also proven somewhat difficult for players, but at some point the Traveler will need to get back to trying to rescue their sibling (or farming upgrade materials for party members).

The Serenitea Pot is basically a pocket dimension for Genshin Impact players to use however they want. Once obtained, players can enter and exit the teapot at will, but it's a little confusing at first since not many items work this way.

In order to enter the Serenitea Pot, players first need to open their inventory. Once there, navigate over to the gadgets section (looks like a treasure chest) and find the Serenitea Pot amongst the other items. Players should then have the option to "place" it just like they would use any other item. Exit the inventory and the Serenitea Pot should be floating right in front of the player. Simply interact with it to be transported to the player's house.

how to exit serenitea pot

Exiting the Serenitea Pot is a little trickier, and players may be surprised to learn that there is no way to simply exit and return to the spot where the player entered. Instead, open the pause menu and then select map. In the bottom right hand corner of the screen, click the teapot to open a list of locations. Players will notice that they are currently in the Serenitea Pot but can travel to Teyvat instead. Selecting this will change the map back to Teyvat, at which point players can exit by warping to any fast travel point. While it's strange that players can't just exit where they entered from, this will always work to help players get back to Teyvat to continue their journey.

Keep in mind that the Serenitea Pot quest doesn't unlock until Adventure Rank 35, so players that are still working their way up in the ranks will need to wait a bit before accessing this feature. Those that already have it can use it without fear of being trapped inside the teapot forever, as leaving is actually easy despite being somewhat hidden.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC and PS4, and later on Switch.
