Genshin Impact has wrapped up the third act of its main storyline, and now the Traveler is ready to continue his or her adventure in Teyvat. Still, that does not mean that developer MiHoYo has no more content planned for the Japan-themed Inazuma, as there might be at least one more location that players will get to explore according to the most recent leaks. This will be another area in the vicinity of the islands called Enkanomiya, and could possibly debut in the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.4 patch.

Being inspired by medieval Japan, Inazuma is a region mostly defined by its oceans and mountain ranges. So far, players have had to find ways to go between islands to arrive to each new locale; Narukami, Kannazuka, Seirai, Yashiori, Watatsumi, and Tsurumi islands. The new location, Enkanomiya, seems to be located to the west of Watatsumi, far beyond the rebel base and Sangonomiya shrine. Other leaks suggest this might be a new, separate map layer like the Golden Apple Archipelago, meaning that it could only be accessible for a limited time. Whatever the case may be, some screenshots suggest it might be located underwater but have architecture similar to domains, as if there had been a sunken acient civilization there.

All Known Details About Genshin Impact's Leaked Enkanomiya Region

Each new region introduced in Inazuma has had a unique personality and questline attached to it, and it seems like Enkanomiya will be no exception. The main difference is that screenshots and leaks seem to suggest this will be a more vertical map, with towering heights enabling lots of climbing and gliding. This is probably the reason why the Enakanomiya's waypoints are so closely packed together in maps, pointing to a similar design philosophy as with areas like Dragonspine.

One interesting detail is that patch 2.4 will also introduce two new characters, Shenhe and Yun Jin, but they are from Liyue and not Inazuma. This hints that MiHoYo are probably not rolling out all of the content in the same patch. The leaks also suggest Enkanomiya will feature new types of mobs to fight, a new world boss similar to the cubes or the Wolf of the North challenges, and a new questline - each featuring different rewards such as upgrade materials, experience items and primogems. Furthermore, there will be 21 confirmed teleport waypoints that Genshin Impact players can activate for 105 free primogems, but it's likely to be a long way to the top.

The entire Inazuma region has provided players with some of the most exciting content in Genshin Impact's first year, and Enkanomiya will seemingly add some more variety. Although some of the upcoming content, characters and costumes coming soon seem to hint at a return to Liyue to visit some old friends, there might be still some mysteries in Inazuma. The thunder region has quickly become a fan favorite with its dark and moody tones, and most players would love to spend some more time among the shrines, ghosts, and warriors.

While the promise of new adventures is alluring, other gamers might feel dissapointed that MiHoYo is not moving on to the next region right away. Some rumors assure that the next place Traveler will go to is Sumeru, the land where they will first come in contact with Dendro element characters. This will hopefully bring new options for builds, party composition, and reactions with huge damage numbers. The world of Teyvat has seven major nations, out of which Traveler and Paimon have only seen three so far. There has been no confirmation on what the timeframe is going to be before a new Archon and country get introduced and the main story continues.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is also in development.
