  • Emilie in Genshin Impact received a significant buff to her Elemental Skill, increasing her potential power in the game.
  • The game's developer, HoYoverse, ensures characters fit the meta through beta phases, managing power creep effectively.
  • Players have expressed skepticism about Emilie's buffs and wonder if it indicates that her kit is currently underwhelming.

A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed that Emilie received an important buff to her Elemental Skill, which could significantly impact her power on the field. Developer HoYoverse has already confirmed that Emilie, the famous perfume designer from Fontaine, will join the playable roster in update 4.8.

Every Genshin Impact update has its beta phase which starts approximately six weeks before the official launch, giving HoYoverse enough time to make adjustments to new characters so that they properly fit the game's meta. Having a character go through multiple beta phase cycles could be one of the reasons why HoYoverse games are generally great at managing power creep in their games.

Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Plot Details About Pyro Archon and Xbalanue

A new Genshin Impact leak reveals details about Pyro Archon and a new character who is expected to arrive in the Natlan region.

A post on the game's leaks subreddit has revealed that the new Genshin Impact five-star character Emilie has received an interesting buff to her Elemental Skill. This ability allows Emilie to place a Lumidouce Case on the field, which acts as a turret that deals AoE Dendro damage to nearby enemies. According to the new leak, the range of the Lumidouce Case attacks has increased from 12.5m to 16.5m. This 28% range increase could have a significant impact on Emilie's damage potential, especially considering that she's expected to be a powerful off-field support.

Genshin Impact Players Are Skeptical About Emilie's Buffs

Multiple replies in the comment section claim that they are worried about Emilie's overall power on the field, considering that this is the second time she has been significantly buffed in recent times, which usually indicates that the character's kit is underwhelming. Many fans claim that she could follow the same path as Dehya who, despite being one of the most anticipated characters, ended up joining Genshin Impact's Standard Character Banner, due to her kit being considered underwhelming, at least compared to other DPS units in the game.

Even though Emilie used to rely on triggering the Burning Elemental Reaction, HoYoverse's recent changes made her more flexible by lifting the damage reduction for enemies affected by other Dendro elemental reactions. Many fans still hope that Emilie could be a great alternative to the Sumeru Archon Nahida, who is widely considered the best Dendro user in Genshin Impact.

Fontaine's perfume designer is the only new five-star confirmed for update 4.8, meaning that she will be joined by three re-run characters. Recent leaks have revealed that she will be placed on the second banner cycle alongside the popular Hydro user Yelan. The first part of Genshin Impact update 4.8 is reserved for Fontaine's Geo user Navia and Sumeru's famous dancer, Nilou.
