Fans of Genshin Impact are enjoying the beginnings of a new event alongside plenty of other updates, like the new Pyro mage, Klee. Those who've started completing tasks for that new event, will already be familiar with the dodgy traveling merchant, Liben.

Liben, a new wandering NPC, was introduced to Genshin Impact by the recent Marvelous Merchandise event. The event is set to take place from October 26th through November 2nd and gives players a chance to collect seven new seasonal gift boxes.

Every day of this week-long event, Genshin Impact players have to locate Liben the traveling merchant. Once found, he tasks players with collecting some sort of ingredient (mushrooms on day one, for example), and then rewards them with one "Box o' Marvel" upon delivery. The Boxes o' Marvel can be stacked and opened at together at a later date, but players lose the ability to claim them once the event expires on November 2nd.

While Liben offers players a choice between seven different Boxes o' Marvel after each task, some Travelers have pointed out that he carries quite a few items on his back. None of these goods seem available for purchase, unfortunately, but if players focus on Liben's backpack, they'll notice a small collection of Dragon Balls (yes, from Dragon Ball Z) lining the top of the bag, along with a small satchel of crystals from miHoYo's other game, Honkai Impact, on the bag's side.

Travelers have already confirmed that Boxes o' Marvel contain Primogems, and several other assorted material treats, but can players expect Liben to gift something rarer in the future? The character admittedly looks like he came directly from DBZ, sharing a striking similarity to burly supporting characters like Mr. Satan (Hercule, in the States). That said, he's not even from Inazuma, Genshin Impact's Japan-inspired region. He's from Liyue; and nonetheless, sharp fans have pointed out that all of the Dragon Balls carried by him bear three stars. That is to say, if Liben is only carrying three-star Dragon Balls, can we trust that they're even authentic relics?

Liben, as players will discover from his dialogue, is a transparently shady merchant. So although he's helping players out with some Boxes o' Marvel, he may very well be peddling counterfeit Dragon Balls and Honkai gems. If he's legit, though, Travelers would surely love to Wish for future five-star characters like Zhongli with the help of the Dragon Balls.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, and PS4, with a Switch version also in development.
