Every Genshin Impact update has two banner cycles that include different characters that can be acquired for a limited time. Each banner lasts for three to four weeks and players that have missed it have to wait for their re-run.

miHoYo has been introducing banner re-runs very frequently to the world of Genshin Impact, and it seems as though every update consists of two banners, a new character and a re-run. The official livestream for update 2.3 has revealed the content players will see in the following update, including two new playable characters - Itto and Gorou.

Genshin Impact 2.3 will be the first update to introduce a double banner re-run, which means that players will have the chance to opt for two banners at the same time. This is miHoYo's way of compensating for the absence of a brand new five-star character in a certain banner cycle. The double banner will arrive in the first cycle, and it will feature Eula and Albedo, which means that players can already start building the right Genshin Impact team composition for these characters.

In order to acquire a character through a limited banner, players need to spend their Intertwined Fates in order to use a wish. Limited character banners consist of three four-star and one five-star character. Five-star characters are obviously harder to pull for, but players are guaranteed to get a five-star every 90 wishes - though they can drop much sooner. miHoYo's new double banner works in a way that this 90-wish guarantee is spread between the two banners. For example, if players fail to get Albedo after spending 50 wishes on his banner, spending another 40 wishes on the other banner will guarantee a five-star drop.

The same mechanic works for the four-star guarantee which comes with every 10 wishes. Both of these wish guarantee counts are independent of the guarantee counts of other types of wishes, such as Standard Wish or Weapon Event Wish. The base probability and rules for items of various star ratings for a double banner are the same as those of a regular limited character banner. Since his release in update 1.2, Albedo has been one of the strongest support characters in Genshin Impact. In addition to that, his kit is one of the easiest to execute right now.

Eula has always been one of the strongest DPS characters in the game alongside Ganyu and Xiao. Her unique playstyle requires players to get used to her animation cancel mechanics in order to use her full damage potential. She is definitely one of the fan-favorite characters in Genshin Impact at the moment, as she's a must-have DPS character for any Genshin Impact player.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
