Chinese developer miHoYo has become one of the biggest names in game development since the release of its breakout hit, Genshin Impact. This online gacha RPG continues to be a hot topic of discussion online, with many fans sharing fan art, memes, and various other aspects of the game. Genshin Impact has also been a commercial success for the developer, making millions of dollars through the banners and various microtransactions. Recently, miHoYo announced another title currently in development, known as Zenless Zone Zero.

This game seems to be a brand-new IP from miHoYo, disconnected from the other games currently being produced, such as Honkai: Star Rail or Genshin Impact. Not much has been revealed about the game at this time, not even its genre, but an official Twitter account for the game has been created, and a tweet has already been posted.

This tweet asks fans to tune into the game's full reveal on May 13, which is next weekend. The tweet will take fans to a teaser website for Zenless Zone Zero, where it shows an old antenna CRT TV with a VCR set. It also has some posters, technology, and a shelf full of VHS tapes on the side. If fans turn the top knob on the TV set, a mysterious message will play.

This message is a recording that states there is a doomsday event taking place, with a mysterious voice cryptically noting that the player is a part of what is happening in the game. Turning the bottom knob gives a more visual indicator of what is going on, with a news report stating that a "sub-hollow" is taking place. The visuals show a city being swallowed by a giant purple dome, and that security is evacuating residents. The final interactive element on the website is a calendar beside the TV, which shows a countdown to the game's reveal on May 13.

While more is going to be revealed next weekend, industry analyst Daniel Ahmad shared on Twitter that this game was a shooter that miHoYo had been developing for a while. Some fans were a little trepidatious regarding this game, as some feel the developer is spreading itself thin. Some pointed out that announcing another game might slow down progress on other projects like Genshin Impact's Switch version and Honkai: Star Rail. Regardless, fans will have to wait and see Zenless Zone Zero's official announcement to see if these fears are founded or not.

Zenless Zone Zero is currently in development.
