Crystal Chunks are an important but rare resource for powerful weapon crafting in Genshin Impact. Here are the two best locations for farming a large number of them in a small area.
Resources are very important to character and weapon enhancements in Genshin Impact. Chinese developer miHoYo introduced a number of ways to improve characters and their weapons, such as Ascension Materials like Brilliant Diamond Chunks, or the many types of Artifacts that give buffs to character stats like attack percent or health points. Farming resources is important to be successful in all of these areas, but for forging powerful prototype weapons, players will need to get their hands on a lot of Crystal Chunks.
Crystal Chunks can be found in the wild all over Teyvat, but to avoid looking for them aimlessly and a large amount more efficiently, some areas offer them in bulk. One main area players are finding a large quantity of Crystal Chunks is within Stormterror's Lair west of Mondstadt. Keep in mind that this requires far enough story progression as well as reaching Adventure Rank 18, otherwise, there will be a barrier around the entire area and it cannot be reached.
Looking at the in-game map of Teyvat, most of the Chunks will be found in the dark green area surrounding Stormterror's Lair. Starting at the center, fly down to the outskirts of the ruins and use the wind currents to easily take a look around the surrounding areas and spot the bright blue Crystals from high up. The Chunks will be up against the cliffsides and to break them, players will need to use characters that have explosive or heavy two-handed weapons like Amber or Noelle respectively.
But the best location for farming Crystal Chunks in Genshin Impact is on Qingyun Peak, also on the west end of the currently available Teyvat map. Here, the crystals will be somewhat more spaced apart and players will need to cover a bigger area in search of them, but more Crystal Chunks can be harvested in this area than anywhere else. Again, check cliffsides and rocky formations to locate them.
Crystal Chunks are on a respawn timer of 2 days or 48 hours. While waiting, players can simply hop into other players' sessions in co-op mode (after Adventure Rank 16 is reached) to farm Crystal Chunks there as well. After acquiring at least 50 of them, players can craft four-star weapons. And don't forget to mark the precise Crystal Chunk locations on the map to easily find them again later.
