Crimson Agate is a new item in Genshin Impact that released with the Version 1.2 update. It can be offered to the Frostbearing Tree in exchange for rewards. Below are all Crimson Agate locations and how they can be obtained.

The Version 1.2 update to Genshin Impact introduced a number of new gameplay mechanics, such as the Sheer Cold stat. This operates similarly to Breath of the Wild's cold stat that requires the player to find a source of warmth before it's too late. By offering Crimson Agate to the Frostbearing Tree, one item that can eliminate the Sheer Cold stat can be obtained.

A ton of Crimson Agate can be found around the new Dragonspine region, and they operate similarly to Anemoculus and Geoculus in Mondstadt and Liyue. The Frostbearing Tree is a permanent addition to the world of Genshin Impact and, likewise, functions like the Statues of the Seven by providing rewards in exchange for leveling it.

It looks like obtaining all of the Crimson Agate found by wandering around Dragonspine isn't quite enough to level the Frostbearing Tree up to its max Level 12. Rather, it'll get players to about Level 8, then they must participate in the Crimson Wish, which unlocks at that same level. Crimson Wish introduces a number of new quests in Teyvat. On Mondays and Fridays, 5 new quests will become available (10 total per week), which players can complete to earn Crimson Agate.

There are over 50 Crimson Agate that can be found simply by exploring in Genshin Impact, and like the Oculi, they can be obtained in all sorts of ways. Sometimes they might be behind a cluster of rocks or floating in the air, but other times, the player must take special steps to reveal them. One Crimson Agate on the north-east side of the map can only be acquired after defeating an enemy and draining a pool to reveal an underwater chest. Many other Agates can also be found inside chests and after defeating enemies.

Other hidden Crimson Agates are hidden behind magical ice that can't be melted using a Pyro character. Instead, travelers will need to find veins for Scarlet Quartz, another new addition in the 1.2 update, which will allow any character to cut through the magical ice. Also keep a lookout for timed challenges, wind currents, Fire Seelie puzzles, and bridges to locate all Crimson Agates.

Finally, one Crimson Agate requires that a Genshin Impact quest called Priest, Princess, and Scribe be completed, where the player must find three different boxes and unlock a secret room.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
