A Genshin Impact fan has pointed out an interesting fact similarity between the recently announced character named Wanderer and one of the most popular rock songs in history. After months of speculation, the game's official social media accounts have finally confirmed the arrival of two new previously rumored characters, Faruzan and Wandered, also known as Scaramouche.
Both of these characters will appear in the upcoming update, but they will most likely be spread between the two Genshin Impact banner cycles. Wanderer will be a five-star character while Faruzan is rumored to have a lower four-star rarity.
A Reddit user by the name isteyp has shared an interesting image showing that the Wanderer was officially announced on the same date as the famous song "Bohemian Rhapsody" was released. This song was released by the British rock group Queen as the lead single of their "A Night at the Opera" album back on October 31, 1975. The post gathered a lot of attention as it reached almost 2k upvotes. A number of fan-made theories claim that while this seems like a coincidence, there is a chance that HoYoverse intentionally waited for October 31 for the official announcements.
Fans have pointed out that two lines of the song "Thunderbolts and lightning, very, very frightening me" and "Anyway the wind blows doesn't really matter to me" somewhat describe Wanderer's upcoming transformation. Even though he was known as an Electro user, Wander will actually be able to control the Anemo element, which is also known as the wind element in the game. The line "Scaramouch, Scaramouch, will you do the Fandango" is interesting for two reasons.
Besides including Scaramouche which is one of his names, it also mentions the Fandango dance, and the Wanderer's theme song is called Ominous Fandango. A number of replies in the comment section claim that the Wanderer's tragic life is somewhat described by this song. He was originally created to be the Electro Archon, but Ei decided that he is too weak for this role and sent him away after sealing his powers. He then became one the of infamous Eleven Fatui Harbingers who work for the Cryo Archon Tsaritsa.
Fans don't seem too happy about the fact that Nahida and Wanderer are placed in two successive updates, which means that there won't be enough time to gather the right amount of Primogems for both characters. While many expected Nahida to break the all-time revenue record, there is a chance that players skip her banner, so they can acquire the new Anemo user.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
