Genshin Impact, the open-world action game that many are comparing to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is moving quickly toward its final closed beta. The game features 4-player co-op, so developer Mihoyo wants to let players test it thoroughly. Genshin Impact's final closed beta begins on July 2 for PC, PS4, and mobile devices.

Mihoyo has provided a description of what closed beta players will be able to experience. The beta features two of Genshin Impact's seven major cities, Mondstadt and Liyue, but players will also be able to explore the open-world landscape surrounding the two cities. The beta can be experienced either solo with three swappable party members or in co-op with up to three friends.

The closed beta, obviously, won't be open to everyone. Those who want a chance at being able to participate in Genshin Impact's final beta will have to visit the game's official website and register. It's a simple process that requires email address verification and password registration, and registrees can also login using Twitter or Facebook.

No one really knows what to expect from Genshin Impact. The game's early trailers introduced a huge, explorable world filled with danger and intrigue. The closed beta will offer a select few the opportunity to see whether Genshin Impact delivers on the promise of those early trailers.

Genshin Impact releases later this year on PC, PS4, and iOS and Android devices.
