Joining the playable character roster in Genshin Impact's version 4.3 update's second phase after her cool introduction and involvement through the patch's main event, Chevreuse is primarily a support character. She aims to bring a new utility to the Overload reaction specifically, boosting the power of this reaction as well as Pyro and Electro damage. This function is in a niche similar to the team limitations Nilou has brought for the Bloom reaction. With that, players who are particularly interested in optimizing some of their Pyro and Electro characters, without simply relying on more popular reactions for these elements like Vaporize or Melt, will find Chevreuse to be a fun addition to their roster.

Being a 4-star character, players can also more easily consider whether it is worth their resources to aim for some constellations to increase her utility even further. This is what players should be paying attention to while considering if they should be going for constellations or not.

Are Chevreuse Constellations Worth It In Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact Details Chevreuse's Kit

Unfortunately, the more valuable constellations for Chevreuse are the latter ones. This means that if players truly want to increase her utility and the damage output for the entire team, as well as lift some limitations for her team composition, which only consists of Pyro and Electro characters, it is recommended that players aim for C6. This is especially true if they are planning to pull for Raiden Shogun or Yoimiya either way, as both units do have good synergy with Chevreuse, and players won't be spending their resources on characters that won't work with her. On the other hand, Chevreuse is perfectly fine at C0 as well, meaning that players don't need to particularly aim for her early constellations to increase her utility much further.

C1 - Stable Front Line's Resolve

  • Effect: When the active character with the "Coordinated Tactics" status (not including Chevreuse herself) triggers the Overloaded reaction, they will recover 6 Energy. This effect can be triggered once every 10s. You must first unlock the Passive Talent "Vanguard's Coordinated Tactics."
  • Importance: Low

The first constellation allows players to recover additional energy for the active character, ideally for the hyper carry or the main DPS of the team, when an Overloaded reaction is triggered. While this may seem beneficial on paper, it may not be as useful for increasing the team's overall damage output, especially if the team doesn't rely much on their Elemental Bursts, as is the case with characters like Yoimiya. Furthermore, the cooldown for this effect to trigger is quite long with being once every 10 seconds, making it a not very worth constellation for many team compositions.

C2 - Sniper Induced Explosion

  • Effect: After Holding Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire and hitting a target, 2 chain explosions will be triggered near the location where said target is hit. Each explosion deals Pyro DMG equal to 120% of Chevreuse's ATK. This effect can be triggered up to once every 10s, and DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
  • Importance: Low

The second constellation of Chevreuse aims to increase her damage output, particularly for her Elemental Skill. It can also allow for additional Overloaded reactions or Pyro application to occur if timed right. However, considering that Chevreuse, on her own, is a support character with not a significant damage output, having additional chain explosions may not make a significant difference in the overall damage output. Nevertheless, since her Elemental Skill, especially when held before using, is the most valuable part of her kit, it might still come in handy in some instances.

C4 - The Secret to Rapid-Fire Multishots

  • Effect: After using Ring of Bursting Grenades, the Hold mode of Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire will not go on cooldown when Chevreuse uses it. This effect is removed after Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire has been fired twice using Hold or after 6s.
  • Importance: Medium

With this constellation, going for Chevreuse's constellations actually starts becoming more worthwhile, especially when considered together with her C3, which increases her Elemental Skill Talent level. This is because this constellation allows Chevreuse to make more use of both her Elemental Burst and her Elemental Skill's hold mode. After using her Elemental Burst, Chevreuse is able to utilize her Elemental Skill an additional time. This means not only is she able to increase her Pyro application by dealing AoE damage multiple times, but she can also utilize her Elemental Skill's healing utility more times in a shorter time period, which can come in quite handy. On the other hand, while it does help her own damage output, it doesn't significantly increase the team's overall damage, which would be ideal for a support character.

C6 - In Pursuit of Ending Evil

  • Effect: After 12s of the healing effect from Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire, all nearby party members recover HP equivalent to 10% of Chevreuse's Max HP once. After a party member is healed by Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire, they gain a 20% Pyro DMG Bonus and Electro DMG Bonus for 8s. Max 3 stacks. Each stack's duration is counted independently.
  • Importance: High

Chevreuse's final constellation is by far her best one. Not only does it give added benefit to her healing utility by allowing for a party-wide healing, albeit a small amount, instead of only healing the active character through her skill, but it also provides a significant buff to both Pyro and Electro DMG bonuses, up to 60%. Considering that this buff is not necessarily tied to Overload, it makes Chevreuse quite viable for other team compositions that do not necessarily consist only of Pyro and Electro characters, as long as the main DPS character is either Pyro or Electro. In particular, for team compositions like Raiden hypercarry, Chevreuse with her sixth constellation can surpass the utility of Kazuha in many instances, making her a solid option, especially for players who do not have access to Kazuha or are better at utilizing him in other team compositions.
