Genshin Impact has officially introduced a new character named Charlotte in their recent livestream event. Developer HoYoverse usually hosts a Special Program event a couple of days before a new update which reveals most of the upcoming content.

The addition of a new main nation is probably the most important event for most Genshin Impact characters as it's always followed up with tons of content. The release of the Fontaine major region is around the corner which means that HoYoverse will most likely start introducing more characters from the Hydro region.

During the recently held Genshin Impact Special Program event, developer HoYoverse revealed a new character named Charlotte who will appear in the next update. She also appeared in a recent leak that revealed the models of 10 new Genshin Impact characters that will appear in the Fontaine region. Her design is based on a character from HoYoverse's second most popular title, Honkai Impact 3rd, who also goes by the name Charlotte. Considering that this Honkai character uses the bow as her primary weapon could mean that Genshin Impact's Charlotte could also be a bow user. When it comes to her element, she can be seen wearing a light blue Vision which indicates that she's either a Cryo or an Anemo user.

Players will probably have to wait for the next update to arrive to get more details about Charlotte. Some comments have pointed out that she could play a similar role for Fontaine as the Anemo user Kaedehara Kazuha did for Inazuma. Even though he comes from the Electro region, Kazuha was released in the last update of the Liyue arc which helped the storyline transition from the Geo nation to the islands of Inazuma.

The only new character that will be released in the next update will be a new Dendro user named Kirara. She is a unique four-star unit that specializes in providing utility and applying Dendro damage to multiple targets. Kirara has one of the most iconic Elemental Skills which allows her to curl up into a delivery box and travel across the world of Teyvat with increased movement speed. She can even climb up walls while in this state.

The fact that she's a four-star means that HoYoverse will introduce four re-runs for Genshin Impact version 3.7. The first banner cycle will feature the Pyro user Yoimiya and the fan-favorite Electro character Yae Miko. The second banner cycle is reserved for Kazuha and Alhaitham.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, and a Switch port is also in development.
