Exploring the world Teyvat is one of the most popular activities in Genshin Impact, especially since HoYoverse keeps expanding the game's playable terrain with almost every other update. The game's official social media accounts have already revealed that a new major region named Sumeru is set to arrive in Version 3.0.

Even though teleportation is a big part of the game, a big part of the community still prefers reaching their destination on foot. Each character in Genshin Impact has the ability to sprint which increases the speed of each character significantly.

Three popular characters, Ayaka, Mona, and Yelan, have a unique Talent that allows them to use an alternate sprint which is slightly faster than the regular one. Besides being faster, the alternate sprint has a lower stamina consumption and it cannot be affected by stamina debuffs. Even though it has a lot of benefits, players often complain that even the smallest obstacle can cause a character to stop moving. Luckily a new post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed that developer HoYoverse will apparently implement some changes to the alternate sprint in the upcoming Genshin Impact update 3.0.

The video shows the difference between the current sprinting mechanic and the new and improved one. At the moment, both Ayaka and Yelan can get stuck when trying to sprint up and down a staircase which, according to numerous fans, can be incredibly frustrating as it interrupts the flow of the game. Players often put Mona or Ayaka in their team composition for the sole reason of traveling faster through the world and this change will surely improve their Genshin Impact exploring experience.

While this seems like a small change, numerous replies in the comment section claim that this is one of the most significant adjustments in the game so far. Fans state that they've already gotten used to avoiding certain spots in the game that would get them stuck for no real reason. A big part of the community claims that the main reason why HoYoverse decided to make these changes is probably the fact that one of the upcoming Genshin Impact characters will have a unique sprinting mechanic.

Even though HoYoverse revealed a number of new characters that should arrive in the upcoming updates, players think that Nahida is the one that will have an alternate sprint. She will apparently be the new Dendro Archon which makes her one of the most important characters in the new Sumeru region. Players will apparently have to wait a couple of months to acquire this unique character as recent Genshin Impact leaks revealed that she could join the playable roster in update 3.2.

Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
