A new Genshin Impact leak shows more details about a new catalyst weapon which should arrive in the upcoming update 3.2. Developer HoYoverse usually introduces new characters and weapons with every new update cycle.

The first part of the ongoing update 3.1 has introduced a new Genshin Impact DPS character named Cyno who has been mentioned in countless rumors over the last couple of months. The same banner cycle has brought Cyno's signature weapon named Staff of the Scarlet Sands.

A Genshin Impact leaker named GI_Front has revealed the new five-star catalyst named A Thousand Floating Dreams which is apparently scheduled for the next update. The catalyst will serve as the signature weapon for one of the upcoming characters, the long-awaited Dendro Archon Nahida. Numerous leaks have confirmed that she will join the playable roster once version 3.2 arrives. According to a popular Genshin Impact database website named Project Amber, the new weapon will have the following stats:

  • Weapon type: Catalyst
  • Base Attack: 542
  • Secondary stat: Elemental Mastery
  • Secondary stat max. value: 265
  • Passive: Team members other than the equipping character provide the weapon holder with buffs based on whether they have the same element or not. For every matching element, the weapon will increase the holder's Elemental Mastery by 32. If they have a different element, the character's damage bonus from their elemental type will get increased by 10%. In addition, all nearby team members will have their Elemental Mastery increased by 40.

Multiple replies in the comment section claim that this will be one of the strongest weapons in the Genshin Impact, however, its use can be situational. The new catalyst will be the go-to choice for support characters in team compositions that rely on Elemental Mastery which has become one of the most important stats in the new Sumeru region.

Nahida will probably become the best Dendro support in Genshin Impact since the current two supports, Collei and Dendro Traveler, can hardly keep up with Nahida's damage and Dendro applications. A big part of the community wants HoYoverse to add more Dendro characters since the new meta seems to be shaping around the new element which can trigger numerous elemental reactions.

When it comes to Nahida's release date, she is expected to arrive in the first part of Genshin Impact update 3.2 which is scheduled to arrive around November 7. There is still no official information if she will be placed with the new four-star character Layla on the same banner.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
