Genshin Impact has unexpectedly revealed four splash arts that feature cat versions of popular characters as a prank for April Fools' Day. The game revolves around its playable roster which makes sense since they are HoYoverse's main source of revenue. These characters can be obtained by wishing on the game's Limited or Standard Banners.

Genshin Impact already announced two new characters, Baizhu and Kaven, during the recent livestream event for update 3.6. The next update will also include a new part of Sumeru's enormous desert which is expected to be the last expansion before the next major region arrives, rumored to be Fontaine.

The game's official social media accounts usually reveal the splash arts for new Genshin Impact characters approximately six weeks before their official arrival. Genshin Impact's Twitter account has shared four different splash arts that feature cat versions of already existing characters. The cats represent the following playable units: Diluc, Keqing, Kuki Shinobu, and Wanderer. A lot of comments say that they were very confused at first before realizing that all four posts are part of a hilarious April Fools' Day prank. Going by the number of likes and retweets, the cat version of the Pyro user Diluc seems to be the fan-favorite with many comments claiming that it perfectly represents his personality.

Diluc was one of the original Genshin Impact characters that arrived back in 2020. He is a five-star Pyro claymore character who's still considered an A-tier pick for the main DPS position. He can also be used as a sub-DPS thanks to his Elemental Burst, Dawn, which fires a Pyro-infused Pheonix that deals tons of damage in a large area. Unfortunately, the only way to get this character is by wishing on the Standard Banner or by losing a 50/50 on the Limited Character Banner.

Genshin Impact cat versions of Keqing and Kuki Shinobu

The cat version of the Wanderer seems to be the second most popular out of the four splash arts. This character used to be one of the Eleven Harbingers who are known as extremely powerful individuals that work for the Fatui organization, one of the two main antagonist factions in the game.

Keqing and Kuki Shinobu are both Electro characters who have great synergy when placed in the Aggravate team composition. Similar to Diluc, Keqing is one of the oldest DPS characters in Genshin Impact who's currently part of the Standard Banner. Kuki Shinobu is the only featured four-star character, and she's considered a go-to support for teams that need a decent Electro healer.

Genshin Impact is out now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version also in development.
