While exploring the new area in Genshin Impact 3.8, players will come across a cave with a painting on one of its walls. That Mural contains a puzzle and players can only solve it if they unseal four Streaming Projectors. These Projectors are scattered around the Mural and players must find a Water Droplet, also known as Hydro Eidolon, for each one of them.
Other than the Luxurious Chest rewarded when Travelers solve the Mural’s puzzle in Capturing Light and Shadow quest in Genshin Impact, there are multiple obtainable Common Chests once players visit every corner in that cave.
Capturing Light And Shadow Quest Guide In Genshin Impact
There are multiple ways to reach the Capturing Light and Shadow quest cave in Genshin Impact. However, the best way is by starting from the Silver Bottle Courtyard Waypoint and going southeast until there's the green track that leads into the cave.
The moment players enter the cave, they’ll notice a Hydro Eidolon roaming in the middle of the lake. Follow it as it takes the Traveler to a Common Chest before activating the Choo-Choo Cart right next to the Chest.
Ride the Cart to get to the first Streaming Projector and break its seal. That will adjust the Mural and players must find the other Streaming Projectors to fix the rest of the Mural.
After breaking the first seal, keep going east and take the Four-Leaf Sigil to fly into the entrance ahead.
Inside, head into the first left; in a small corridor, Traveler will come across a scared Hydro Eidolon. To free it, simply cast any Hydro Skill to put down the surrounding fire. The Water Droplet will then start moving to unseal another Common Chest.
Keep following it until there's another group of torches. Turn off their fire again to allow the Hydro Eidolon to keep moving. It’s important to note that the Water Droplet will move through the wall while players have to take the Four-Leaf Sigil above it.
After proceeding, players will fight a bunch of Hilichurls, unlock a Common Chest, and can now ride the Cart into the second Streaming Projector.
Right in front of the Mural, there are a Clusterleaf of Cultivation and an Auspicious Branch to help players summon a bunch of Four-Leaf Sigils. Take each of the three Sigils to reach a small alley with a track within it.
Inside that alley, there’s another Water Droplet next to an Exquisite Chest. Follow it as it leads the way into three Hydro Monuments.
Players can activate two by casting Hydro Elemental Skills on them while the third can only be unlocked by asking the Water Droplet for help. It will of course help unlock yet another Common Chest in this cave and the gate into the next area.
Inside the next area, players will run into a bunch of enemies and a Common Chest. After that, there are a new group of Elemental Monuments that consists of Pyro, Hydro, and Cryo Monuments. Activate them to open the gate into the Choo-Choo Cart and another Common Chest. Take that Cart into the third Streaming Projector to further fix the Mural.
Right in front of the third Streaming Projector, players can find an empty track east of the cave. Follow that track deep into the cave to find a Hydro Eidolon surrounded by enemies. Defeat them and progress with the Water Droplet to defeat more enemies, which will summon a Common Chest. From there, the Hydro Eidolon will take players into the fourth and last Streaming Projector.
After fixing the Mural, players can now enter it to solve its puzzle.
Simply move into each of the Symbols and obtain them. Then, move again into the emptied slots to replace the Symbols. It’s an extremely easy puzzle since the game automatically solves it and picks the right Symbol.
Finally, when players make it out of the Preprint’s World, a pleasant surprise of a beautiful Luxurious Chest will be waiting for them.
