Similar to Childe in Genshin Impact, Kamisato Ayato relies on his Hydro infusion to deal damage. This infusion is obtained for a few seconds through his Elemental Skill. Meanwhile, his Elemental Burst is somewhat similar to miss Ganyu, where he causes Hydro rain on the battlefield. In a team, Kamisato Ayato appears to work best either in the role of the sub-DPS or main DPS.

For Ayato’s party, he can be a replacement for either Childe or Kokomi. Here are some examples of Kamisato Ayato’s team composition in Genshin Impact, and who players can pair him with for an optimal team build.

Updated December 28th, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: There aren’t many units in Genshin Impact that are excellent in constantly applying Hydro in an AoE. Other than Sangonomiya Kokomi, the other decent contender is only Ayato. Of course, units like Mona, Xingqiu, and Yelan also work, but they’re not as great as the Watatsumi Priestess and the head of the Kamisato Clan. Whether players are seeking to use Ayato as a main DPS or go stray and use him as a Hydro enabler, it’s crucial to know the best team comp for Ayato in Genshin Impact.

7 Ayato - Dendro Enabler - Electro Enabler - Flex +1

• Main DPS: Ayato
• Sub DPS: Dendro enabler
• Supports: Healer

Core Idea

Dendro Elemental Reaction was released in Genshin Impact 3.0. One of the major mechanics in this feature is the Bloom reaction, which occurs when Hydro and Dendro meet, creating Dendro Cores. These Dendro Cores can then be left to explode on their own or be reacted with Electro or Pyro, which will trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon, respectively.

Thanks to Ayato’s amazing Hydro application, he can easily maintain Bloom to occur, producing Dendro Cores along with a Dendro enabler. Afterward, an Electro unit can trigger Hyperbloom by touching the Dendro Cores with Electro. For this team, here are the units players can consider:

• Dendro enabler: Collei, Dendro MC, or Nahida
• Electro healer: Dori or Kuki Shinobu
• Hydro healer: Sangonomiya Kokomi
• Electro sub-DPS: Fischl, Beidou, Raiden Shogun, or Yae Miko

This Ayato team comp in Genshin Impact can also be used for a Burgeon team, where players must swap the Electro units with Thoma.

Rotation

1. Use the Dendro enabler to apply Dendro on the field.
2. Cast Ayato’s Elemental Burst.
3. Use an Electro move.
4. Swap back to Ayato and use his Skill while touching the produced Dendro Cores with Electro.

6 Ayato - Kazuha - Xiangling - Bennett

• Sub DPS: Xiangling and Kazuha
• Supports: Bennett

Core Idea

This Genshin Impact team adopts the mainstream idea of the national team. Usually, the Hydro unit in this team composition is Xingqiu, but here, he’s replaced by Kamisato Ayato. This team will focus on triggering Vaporize with Ayato and Xiangling. Meanwhile, Kazuha and Bennett will allow both characters to deal massive damage.

Rotation

1. Unleash Ayato's Burst
2. Use Bennett's Elemental Burst.
3. Swap to Xiangling, use her Skill, then Burst.
4. Bring Kazuha out, then cast his Skill and Burst.
5. Finally, spam Ayato's Elemental Skill.

5 Ayato - Fischl or Beidou - C2 Yun Jin - Yelan or Xingqiu

• Main DPS: Ayato
• Sub DPS: Fischl or Beidou and Yelan or Xingqiu
• Supports: Yun Jin

Core Idea

Yun Jin is an excellent support for units that rely on Normal Attack damage like Kamisato Ayato. In this team comp, she will enhance Ayato’s Hydro slashes while Fischl or Beidou will provide continuous Electro application to trigger Electro-Charged on the battlefield. Lastly, Yelan or Xingqiu will work as a powerful sub-DPS that works off-field. Yelan is better for offense, while Xingqiu provides some degree of defense. A second Hydro character will also trigger the Hydro Resonance. Thanks to the change in Genshin Impact 3.0, Hydro Resonance will also increase the team’s HP by 25%, which will be beneficial for Ayato’s damage, Yelan’s damage, and Xingqiu’s protection.

Rotation

1. Cast Yelan or Xingqiu’s Elemental Skill and Burst.
2. Use Fischl’s Skill or Beidou’s Burst.
3. Swap to Yun Jin and use her Burst.
4. Bring Ayato out and start attacking the enemies.

4 Ayato - Kazuha - C2 Yun Jin - Bennett

• Main DPS: Ayato
• Sub DPS: Kazuha
• Supports: Yun Jin and Bennett

Core Idea

For this team, instead of focusing on Elemental Reactions, Travelers will try to maximize Ayato's Hydro attacks. Kazuha will reduce the enemies' Resistance and increase Ayato's Hydro damage. As for Yun Jin, she will add a flat damage bonus to Ayato's hits. By specifically using C2 Yun Jin, she will also increase the team's Normal Attack damage by 12%.

Rotation

1. Cast Bennett's Elemental Burst.
2. Use Ayato's Burst.
3. Swap to Kazuha and use his Skill and Burst.
4. Next, Burst with Yun Jin.
5. Unleash Ayato’s Elemental Skill, and spam his Normal Attack.

3 Ayato - C6 Thoma - C2 Yun Jin - Bennett

• Main DPS: Ayato
• Sub DPS: None
• Supports: Thoma, Yun Jin, and Bennett

Core Idea

This team provides enough buffs for Ayato to perform at his best. It is the budget version where Kazuha is replaced with C6 Thoma, who can protect Ayato with his 100% uptime shield. His C6 also increases Normal Attack damage by 15%. Additionally, Bennett will trigger the Pyro Resonance, providing 25% extra ATK for Kamisato Ayato in Genshin Impact battles.

Rotation

1. Initiate the fight with Ayato's Elemental Burst.
2. Use Thoma's Elemental Skill and Burst.
3. Switch to Yun Jin and use her Burst.
4. Next, apply Bennett's Burst and switch to Ayato.
5. Unleash Ayato's Shunsuiken attacks.

2 Ayato - C2 Beidou - C6 Fischl - Kokomi

• Main DPS: Ayato
• Sub DPS: Beidou, Fischl, and Kokomi
• Supports: Kokomi

Core Idea

The idea of this Genshin Impact team composition is to trigger as many Electro-Charged reactions as possible, counting on Ayato and Kokomi's strong AOE Hydro application. Fischl, especially if she's at C6, will follow Ayato's Hydro attacks, endlessly triggering Electro-Charged. As for Beidou, she's the star of this team composition. Her Elemental Burst will protect Ayato while her Arc Lightning jumps between enemies, also triggering the same desired reaction.

Rotation

1. Start with Kokomi and use her Elemental Skill.
2. Cast Ayato's Elemental Burst.
3. Summon Fischl’s Oz on the field.
4. Swap to Beidou, then unleash her Burst.
5. Enter Ayato's Takimeguri Kanka State.
6. When Ayato finishes his Skill duration, switch back to Kokomi and Burst to continue the synergy.

1 Ayato - Ganyu or Ayaka - Venti - C2 Diona

• Main DPS: Ayato and Ganyu or Ayaka
• Sub DPS: Venti
• Supports: Diona and Venti

Core Idea

Ayato is a great addition to the Morgana team composition in Genshin Impact. His Elemental Burst is very similar to Ganyu's, making their Hydro/Cryo rain spam work with a superb synergy. Meanwhile, Venti provides many necessary additions to the team's composition. He can crowd-control enemies, reduce their Hydro/Cryo resistance, serve as a great battery, and widen the application range of the Elements. As for Diona, she’ll support the team as a healer while providing protection with her shield.

Rotation

1. Apply Ganyu and Ayato’s Elemental Bursts. If using Ayaka instead of Ganyu, only apply Ayato's bursts.
2. Switch to Diona and use Skill, then Burst.
3. Swap to Venti and use his Skill and Burst as well.
4. Now go back to Ayato or Ganyu/Ayaka and enjoy hitting the frozen enemies.
5. Keep switching between Ayato and Ganyu/Ayaka until Venti’s Burst is ready.
