With Viridescent Venerer, Swirl reactions in Genshin Impact become a core mechanic used to help aura units that Anemo characters can Swirl with. With the Viridescent kind of debuff, players can always aim to include strong Anemo users like Kazuha to join a DPS unit that uses that aura.

Although the existence of Dendro reduces the viability of Anemo in Genshin Impact (since Dendro can't be Swirled), Swirl is still one of the best reactions, and arguably the most interesting. This is because Swirl can trigger other Elemental Reactions in the process; for instance, if Sucrose Swirl Hydro aura into an enemy with Pyro, Vaporize can occur along with the Swirl.

5 Sucrose + Kokomi + Fischl + Xiangling

Sukokomon is a common team comp in Genshin Impact. With Sucrose leading the team synergy and the others applying their Elements while off-field, players will end up Swirling Kokomi’s Hydro, Fischl’s Electro, and Xiangling’s Pyro.

All these Swirls will trigger many Elemental reactions like Electro-charged, Overloaded, and Vaporize in Genshin Impact. The chaos created by the Sukokomon team comp is enough to take players far in any Genshin Impact content, even the Spiral Abyss. For players that want to go full F2P, changing Kokomi with Xingqiu can be effective. However, the team will lose a great deal of their survivability.

Team Roles

  • Sucrose: Main DPS, driver, EM buffer, Swirl trigger
  • Kokomi: Support, healer, Hydro enabler
  • Fischl: Sub-DPS, Electro enabler
  • Xiangling: Sub-DPS, Pyro enabler, debuffer (on her C6)

4 Xiangling + Kazuha + Xingqiu + Bennett

This team is a reliable Vaporize team because of how well Xiangling and Xingqiu apply their respective Elements. Both units also serve as the main core damage dealers in this team. As for Supports, one of the best reasons for having Bennett and Kazuha as the buffers in this team comp is their insanely big buffs that Xiangling can Snapshot into her Burst. It’s important to make sure Kazuha Swirls Pyro in order to buff Xiangling’s Pyro DMG by up to 40%. It’s easy to do so as long as players aim to cast Kazuha’s Elemental Skill or Burst after Bennett’s Burst.

As a team that heavily relies on Elemental Burst, Kazuha and Xingqiu are fine getting their own Burst back while Xiangling suffers in this area, which gives another reason for Bennett existing in this team comp. Bennett can battery Xiangling’s required energy and gives her the huge buff she needs to carry the team’s damage. Players who unlock Bennet C6 can even play Xiangling as a Pyro main DPS as his Burst will infuse her Polearm with Pyro.

Team Roles

  • Xiangling: Sub-DPS, Pyro enabler, debuffer (on her C6)
  • Kazuha: Support, crowd control, buffer, Swirl Pyro and Hydro, debuffer (with Viridescent Venerer)
  • Xingqiu: Sub-DPS, minor healer, Hydro enabler
  • Bennett: Support, healer, buffer

3 Ganyu + Shenhe + Kazuha + Bennett

In this team comp, Ganyu is the sole DPS that will benefit from three buffers working for her. Shenhe’s buffs alone take Ganyu’s damage to the next level with her Icy Quils and Ascension bonuses. As for Bennett and Kazuha, they both work to apply Pyro all over the field, making it easy for Ganyu to trigger Reversed Melt on each of her Charged attacks. If done correctly, Ganyu will be able to one-shot groups of enemies back to back before the rotation to buff her starts again.

Team Roles

  • Ganyu: Main DPS
  • Shenhe: Support, buffer, debuffer
  • Kazuha: Support, crowd control, buffer, Swirl Pyro and Cryo, debuffer (with Viridescent Venerer)
  • Bennett: Support, healer, buffer, Pyro enabler

2 Ayaka + Shenhe + Venti + Kokomi

Freeze teams are the team comp that benefits from Swirl reactions the most since they spread both Hydro and Cryo among enemies, freezing them with ease. This strategy is perfect for a DPS like Ayaka since her Elemental Burst carries a huge requirement with the potential to hit one small area of AoE with it. So, enemies standing away from each other or enemies with high mobility are hard targets for Ayaka and her demanding Burst.

To fix that, Venti works to collect all enemies within his Burst area while Kokomi helps freeze them with her strong off-field Hydro application. Now that enemies are in one place and frozen, players can unleash Ayaka’s Frostflake Storm. Furthermore, both Venti and Shenhe add many buffs and debuffs to allow Ayaka to deal the maximum damage possible.

Team Roles

  • Ayaka: Main DPS, Cryo enabler
  • Shenhe: Support, buffer, debuffer, Cryo enabler
  • Venti: Support, crowd control, battery, Swirl Cryo, debuffer (with Viridescent Venerer)
  • Kokomi: Support, healer, Hydro enabler

1 Heizou + Fischl + Xingqiu + Zhongli

heizou-fischl-xingqiu-and zhongli swirl team in genshin impact

Heizou’s entire kit relies on his Swirl reactions as it continuously improves his Elemental Skill damage up to four times. As a melee Catalyst user in Genshin Impact, having Heizou operate as a driver with the power of his Swirls grant his team comps a special flavor. To create a strong team around him, put Fischl and Xingqiu as two of the best off-field damage dealers in Genshin Impact and watch how Heizou drive their Elements with his punches and Swirl reactions.

While the last slot can be anyone other than Zhongli, the Geo Archon adds more survivability without taking away from the damage. Instead, Zhongli’s rare debuffs improve the team’s performance and Elemental reactions.

Team Roles

  • Heizou: Main DPS, Swirl Hydro and Electro
  • Fischl: Sub-DPS, Electro enabler
  • Xingqiu: Sub-DPS, minor healer, Hydro enabler
  • Zhongli: Support, shielder, debuffer, buffer (with Tenacity of the Millelith)

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
