After a long break in new additions to Inazuma's roster, Kirara is the latest addition to Genshin Impact's Japanese-inspired region in the version 3.7 update. Her arrival has excited many players, as she is a Youkai that closely resembles a cat with twin tails and possesses a warm and charming personality. Interestingly, this character was initially leaked as a potential 5-star Geo character, but she joins the roster as a 4-star Dendro character instead. This officially gives Dendro more characters than Geo, despite being introduced much later in Genshin Impact.

Kirara's kit also reflects her role as a courier for Komaniya Express quite well. Not only can her Elemental Skill create a shield, but holding this skill also transforms Kirara into a cat-in-a-box, allowing her to climb and move much faster and with ease. This makes her an excellent companion for exploration. In terms of combat, while she can technically be built as an on-field DPS character, she is best suited as a shielder who also provides Dendro application for elemental reactions. Therefore, her build should typically prioritize HP, as her shield scales from this stat. Additionally, stats like Elemental Mastery are recommended to enhance her support abilities, as some of her damage skills also partially scale with HP.

Kirara Best Artifact In Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact - Kirara Best Artifact Sets Tenacity of the Milelith and Vourukasha's Glow

The best artifact set for Kirara largely depends on the role players assign her within the team composition. Generally, a combination of the 2-piece Tenacity of the Millelith set and the 2-piece Vourukasha's Glow set is recommended for upmost HP scaling. This setup allows for a balanced approach, enhancing both her damage output and shielding abilities. However, for players seeking to maximize her shield strength, especially when pairing her with characters who benefit from ATK scaling like Alhaitham or Yae, it may be beneficial to go for 4pc Tenacity of the Milelith as well.

Another viable artifact set for Kirara is the 4-piece Deepwood Memories set, particularly useful when players plan to have at least two Dendro characters in the team and the other character is not using Deepwood Memories. This set enhances the strength of Dendro reactions. Alternatively, players can consider mixing and matching sets that focus on HP% and Elemental Mastery (EM) bonuses if they wish to create a hybrid build and do not have sufficient EM from substats alone. The Noblesse Oblige set, known for its universal support capabilities, is also a viable option. Considering that Kirara's Elemental Burst can deal significant damage on its own, hence benefiting from the 2-piece bonus, the 4-piece set bonus can benefit other characters in the team that scale with ATK. This provides additional flexibility in team composition and support potential. With these options available, players have a plenty of choices to optimize Kirara's kit.

When it comes to stats, it is advisable for players to prioritize the HP% stat for the main stats on the timepiece, goblet, and circlet artifacts, unless they are lacking a substantial amount of energy recharge or Elemental Mastery from sub-stats. Consequently, the substat priority should follow the order of HP% > EM > Energy Recharge > Flat HP in order to maximize Kirara's potential. For players who plan to equip the Favonius Sword on Kirara, they should also consider prioritizing Crit Rate to ensure consistent energy generation for the team.

Kirara Best Weapon In Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact - Kirara Best Weapon - Key of Khaj-Nisut

As Kirara benefits primarily from HP, the optimal weapon choice for her is Nilou's signature weapon, the Key of Khaj-Nisut. This weapon not only provides an HP buff but also grants Elemental Mastery (EM) to Kirara and the rest of the team based on her HP, making it even more suitable for players focusing on the HP% stat while also gaining a significant amount of EM. Currently, among swords, the Key of Khaj-Nisut is the only weapon that offers HP% as its main stat, making it stand out compared to other options. However, since the Key of Khaj-Nisut is a limited 5-star weapon, many players may not have an extra one available. This is also the case for the second-best weapon option, Freedom-Sworn. Fortunately, players can consider viable 4-star options as alternatives.

The best 4-star weapon option to enhance Kirara's Elemental Mastery and Dendro reaction abilities is Xiphos' Moonlight, which is another gacha weapon. The significant advantage of this weapon is that it not only provides Kirara with Elemental Mastery but also grants Energy Recharge to Kirara and the team based on her Elemental Mastery, allowing Kirara to serve as a battery to some extent. For players seeking a free-to-play option, Sapwood Blade is a strong contender among 4-star choices. It assists with energy recharge for more consistent Burst uptime and can buff a character's Elemental Mastery when Kirara triggers the weapon's ability. Since Sapwood Blade is a forgeable weapon, it is relatively easy to refine and make it even more effective.

Another 4-star option is the Favonius Sword, which is suitable for players interested in increasing Kirara's battery potential. However, building her with Favonius Sword may require players to prioritize Crit Rate along with other stats, which can pose a challenge. Nonetheless, it remains a decent option for players who have yet to unlock the forgeable weapons in the Sumeru region or have not been fortunate enough to obtain Xiphos' Moonlight. Favonius Sword, despite also being a gacha weapon, is widely accessible as it has been available since the game's launch.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
