The best Catalyst in Genshin Impact mostly focuses on the offensive side of the weapon. The meta characters like Mona, Sucrose, and Sangonomiya Kokomi all perform greatly on offensive weapons. The following list will include Catalysts from all ranges of ranks, from 3-Star to 5-Star.
In Genshin Impact, Catalyst is likely the most unique weapon of all. Similar to Bow characters, Catalyst users are also ranged units. What sets them apart is the fact that Catalysts deal Elemental damage for their basic attack. So units that wield this weapon are brilliant for Elemental reactions.
Every weapon passive is written with the effect of Refinement Rank 1 ~ Refinement Rank 5.
7 Thrilling Tales Of Dragon Slayers
- Primary Stat: 401 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 35.2% HP
- Passive: When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24~48% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers may be a 3-Star weapon in Genshin Impact, but it is currently one of the best buffers in the game. Players can equip it on any Catalyst user, and when they switch their DPS in, the damage dealer will get a whopping 48% ATK increase. The best wielders for Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers are Barbara and Sangonomiya Kokomi.
6 Dodoco Tales
- Primary Stat: 454 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% ATK
- Passive: Normal Attack hits on opponents increase Charged Attack DMG by 16~32% for 6s. Charged Attack hits on opponents increase ATK by 8~16% for 6s.
Dodoco Tales is a free Catalyst from Genshin Impact 1.6. Just like any other free weapon, the corresponding event grants enough materials to refine the Catalyst to the maximum level.
This equipment fully focuses on the offensive side. It is best wielded by a main DPS, as off-field DPS won't be able to benefit from its passive. Dodoco Tales is good for Klee, Ningguang and Yanfei.
5 Solar Pearl
- Primary Stat: 510 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 27.6% CRIT Rate
- Passive: Normal Attack hits increase Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 20~40% for 6s. Likewise, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits increase Normal Attack DMG by 20~40% for 6s.
Solar Pearl is only obtainable from the Battle Pass. Like any other premium weapon, this Catalyst offers Critical Rate as its secondary stat. The passive is mostly suitable for a main DPS, but the Critical Rate sub-stat doesn't hurt even for a Sub-DPS in Genshin Impact. Surprisingly though, Solar Pearl mostly performs worse than The Widsith. This causes the Critical Rate Catalyst to rank below the Critical Damage one, despite the fact that it costs real money.
4 Sacrificial Fragments
- Primary Stat: 454 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 221 Elemental Mastery
- Passive: After dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40~80% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30~16s.
Just like other Sacrificial weapons in Genshin Impact, Sacrificial Fragments is also a brilliant weapon. The cooldown reset of its passive is so handy that it can bring some characters to a whole new level. Notable wielders for this weapon would be Sucrose and Sangonomiya Kokomi.
Sucrose with Sacrificial Fragments can be one of the best Battery in Genshin Impact, while with Kokomi, the weapon allows the Watatsumi Priestess to constantly have her jellyfish on the field. Kokomi's Elemental Skill provides both healing and a large Hydro application.
3 The Widsith
- Primary Stat: 510 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% CRIT DMG
- Passive: Every 30s, when a character takes the field, they will gain a random theme song for 10s.
- Recitative: ATK is increased by 60~120%.
- Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 48~96%.
- Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 240~480.
The Widsith is easily one of the best 4-Star Catalysts in Genshin Impact. At maximum refinement, this blue book can even perform similarly to a 5-Star weapon. But, when using this equipment, Travelers have to rely on RNG to give them the buff that they need.
2 Lost Prayer To The Sacred Winds
- Primary Stat: 608 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% CRIT Rate
- Passive: Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8~16% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat.
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is mostly great for its secondary stat. However, the passive is not very flexible because even a main DPS will need some time before they can maximize it. As for Sub-DPS, players can just forget about it completely. The Catalyst's passive is the reason why Lost Prayer places below Skyward Atlas.
1 Skyward Atlas
- Primary Stat: 674 ATK
- SecondaryStat: 33.1% ATK
- Passive: Increases Elemental DMG Bonus by 12~24%. Every 30s, Normal Attack hits have a 50% chance to actively seek out nearby opponents to attack for 15s, dealing 160~320% ATK DMG.
Skyward Atlas is arguably the best Catalyst in Genshin Impact. Unlike Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Skyward Atlas is great for both main DPS and Sub-DPS. This is because the Elemental damage bonus passive is granted without any condition. The only downside for Skyward Atlas is that it may be hard for players to build a decent Crit ratio.
