Alhaitham is a Dendro-infused DPS in Genshin Impact that relies on generating Chisel-Light Mirrors to deal a great amount of damage with his auto attacks or Elemental Burst. Comparable to Keqing, Alhaitham's playstyle is similar in terms of animation and overall kit. However, due to the Chisel-Light Mirrors providing a unique mechanic, Alhaitham and Keqing contrast greatly in how to maximize damage output, requiring proper rotation to keep up.

Alhaitham is best fitted to be the on-field main DPS, providing a wide range of Dendro Reactions in Genshin Impact to increase both his and the team's damage output. His kit, including constellation and passives, provides him with significant self-DPS on-field. However, he requires a team that can help him trigger consistent Dendro Elemental Reactions that coordinate well with his long skill cooldowns.

Alhaitham + Yae + Kazuha + Kuki Shinobu

The Spread reaction is an excellent choice for Alhaitham, as it not only increases his already-high damage modifiers, but it also scales very well with Elemental Mastery which is necessary to build him effectively for his projectile damage. As Yae Miko's, Kazuha'sand Kuki Shinobu's skills also scale with Elemental Mastery, this team has great potential to significantly increase the damage output of Alhaitham as a whole. Players should note that, in order to ensure Spread is effectively achieved, Electro application should be applied before Dendro application over Quicken.

A recommended starting rotation is Yae Miko's Elemental Skill followed by Kazuha's Elemental Burst. This way, Kazuha can swirl Electro for a more consistent application and more DMG output for Electro, and Elemental Mastery boost to everyone including Alhaitham if players have Kazuha's second constellation. As Miko and Kazuha have relatively long skill durations, Alhaitham can upkeep uninterrupted elemental reaction time until his Chisel-Light Mirrors expire. During Alhaitham's off-time, all of these characters can have their skills reapplied in a timely manner. Instead of Miko, Fischl is also an excellent choice for players who wish to use her as an alternative. Players might also choose to opt in for Zhongli instead of Kuki Shinobu.

Team Role

  • Alhaitham: Main DPS, Dendro Enabler
  • Yae: Sub-DPS, Electro enabler
  • Kazuha: Buffer (for Electro), can help Alhaitham's damage if Kazuha is C2+
  • Kuki Shinobu: Healer, Battery, Electro enabler

Alhaitham + Raiden Shogun + Yelan + Yaoyao

Hyperbloom is another elemental reaction where Alhaitham can be utilized well. To do so, Yelan and Alhaitham must first create the Dendro Cores for Raiden Shogun to trigger them. Once these cores have been created, they can then be used to trigger Hyperbloom and achieve the desired effect. With the potential for many other reactions associated with Quicken, players must be mindful of the sequence in which each element is activated. It is highly recommended that the team composition has a healer, such as Yaoyao, available when using Hyperbloom, as its x3 DMG multiplier can cause significantly more damage to the active character compared to Bloom when it explodes.

Players can change Yelan to Xingqiu and Yaoyao to Kokomi to create a similar Hyperbloom playstyle. However, for this reaction, Raiden Shogun still remains the best option due to her Electro application being much more controllable when compared to characters such as Beidou, Yae, or Fischl.

Team Role

  • Alhaitham: Main DPS, Dendro enabler
  • Raiden Shogun: Electro enabler, Battery, Sub-DPS
  • Yelan: Support, Hydro enabler
  • Yaoyao: Healer

Alhaitham + Nilou + Sangonomiya Kokomi + Nahida

Genshin Impact Team Composition Alhaitham Nilou Kokomi Nahida

With the 3.4 patch, which introduced Alhaitham, Bloom and Nilou teams have gained even more options for Dendro users. Alhaitham can be an excellent secondary Dendro character option alongside Nahida, providing a more consistent and rapid Bountiful Core generation. Additionally, teams previously lacking the main DPS can now also utilize one, in addition to relying on Bountiful Cores alone. If players do not have Nilou, this team may not be able to perform as optimally as other reaction teams due to the difficulty of maximizing damage with Bloom teams when compared to Hyperbloom or Burgeon teams.

For players who don't have Kokomi, Barbara is a great alternative. Alternatively, Yaoyao and Yelan can be used instead of Nahida and Kokomi. In general, it is highly recommended to have a Dendro or Hydro healer on a bloom team to mitigate the damage taken.

Team Role

  • Alhaitham: Main DPS, Dendro enabler
  • Nilou: Sub-DPS, Bloom Trigger
  • Sangonomiya Kokomi: Healer, Hydro enabler
  • Nahida: Sub-DPS, buffer, Dendro enabler

Alhaitham + Xingqiu + Thoma + Zhongli

Genshin Impact Team Composition Alhaitham Xingqiu Thoma Zhongli

A Burgeon reaction combo order for Alhaitham works similarly to that of Hyperbloom. The team relies on Xingqiu and Alhaitham to generate the Dendro cores, while Thoma triggers the Burgeon reaction. Xiangling could potentially interfere with the reactions, causing Vaporize with Xingqui instead, but Thoma's weak Pyro application serves as a great option for this particular elemental reaction. To ensure that both 4-piece set bonuses are effectively used, Alhaitham should be equipped with Gilded Dreams and Zhongli with Deepwood Memories. Although Xingqui provides additional healing benefits, players can choose to use Yelan as an alternative if they prefer.

Overall, Alhaitham is a good choice for most Dendro reactions and is an excellent on-field Dendro enabler and Main DPS. However, due to the current shortcomings of Burning reaction, building Alhaitham with such a team is not recommended until potentially more suitable characters like Dehya become available to solve the issue.

Team Role

  • Alhaitham: Main DPS, Dendro enabler (4p Gilded Dreams)
  • Xingqiu: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Healing Support, Hydro enabler
  • Thoma: Burgeon trigger (Full EM build)
  • Zhongli: Support, Shielder, debuffer, buffer (4pc Deepwood Memories)

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
