Highlights

  • Genshin Impact may replace a Fontaine character with Sethos in Version 4.6, impacting the gacha system and character lineup on Event Banners.
  • Arlecchino and Cyno will receive Story Quests in the upcoming update, adding evergreen content and exploring new lore.
  • Sethos, a potential Dendro 4-Star support for Cyno, may debut in Version 4.6, altering previous speculations about banner characters.

Genshin Impact could be switching out one of the currently unreleased Fontaine characters in favor of Sethos, who plays a major role in Cyno's second Story Quest. A fact that has certainly rung true for the region of Fontaine is that Genshin Impact is no stranger to making decisions on the fly, especially when it concerns its gacha system – most notably, the characters that find their way onto its Event Banners. This makes banner leaks especially important to the Genshin Impact community, and players try to keep themselves informed of any emerging changes.

Version 4.6 of Genshin Impact is scheduled to add a significant amount of evergreen content: Arlecchino, two Artifact Sets, a weekly boss, the subterranean zone of Remuria, and two Story Quests. The recipients of these Story Quests are Arlecchino and Cyno, with the latter being a welcome surprise. Players have always considered Cyno in Genshin Impact to be one of its most intriguing characters, with plenty of untapped lore to be explored. Moreover, his particular brand of humor has further endeared him to the community, even if Tighnari might strongly feel otherwise.

Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Possible Story Quests for Version 4.6

A reliable source reveals that Genshin Impact will introduce multiple Story Quests in Version 4.6, including a second one for a popular character.

Sethos is expected to make his first appearance as a character related to Cyno in Genshin Impact Version 4.6, though the exact nature of their relationship remains unknown. However, according to Mero, one of the most reliable voices when it comes to Genshin Impact leaks, Sethos will become a playable character before the release of Natlan. Unfortunately, this could come at the price of Emilie being moved out of the Fontaine patch cycle entirely, as she is now missing from the latest banner data. Though there is a possibility that Emilie will feature as a playable character prior to Version 5.0, the current situation strongly implies a delay.

Upcoming Genshin Impact Banner Characters

  • Arlecchino – Pyro Polearm
  • Clorinde – Electro Sword
  • Sigewinne – Hydro Bow
  • Sethos – Unknown Bow

Sethos will be a Bow character of an unknown rarity and an unknown element. His concept art depicts him as a medium male model with white hair and desert clothing, but his final model lacks the cat ears from Sethos' earlier design. Given that the new Artifact Set in Genshin Impact Version 4.6 buffs the Burning Elemental Reaction, players are hoping that Sethos will be a Dendro 4-Star support for Cyno. Curiously, Dendro is still missing an element applicator like Xingqiu or Yelan, and this could potentially be a valuable niche that Sethos could provide.

Earlier speculation had pegged the Burning Artifact Set as being tailor-made for Emilie, but the recent information about the remaining banner characters puts a great damper on that theory. In addition to Sethos, Genshin Impact will add Clorinde and Sigewinne over the course of Version 4.7 and Version 4.8 – though the exact order and character pairings on the Event Banners remain unconfirmed. After that, Version 5.0 will take Genshin Impact players to Natlan, which is expected to launch in late Summer 2024.
