Star-Shaped Gems are small fragments to a bigger puzzle in Genshin Impact. These gems can be found in Shirikoro Peak of Tsurumi Island. In total, Genshin Impact players can find three gems. To find them, travelers have to move slowly as they explore the ruin beneath Shirikoro Peak.
Not only that, but this Tsurumi Island quest is only doable after travelers have finished the Particularly Particular Author quest, which is the first part of the Through the Mists questline. The gadget they obtain on the second day, Peculiar Pinion, plays a major part in retrieving the Star-Shaped Gems.
After getting the Peculiar Pinion gadget, players can use them when they find a Thunderbird Statue. Not only that, but this gadget is also usable on walls with a Thunderbird carving on it.
First Star-Shaped Gem Location
First, players have to go to the ruin under Shirikoro Peak. They would have been here when doing the Particularly Particular Author quest. From the entrance hole, travelers have to walk through the passageway until they find a round door (which should be opened at this point). For the first Star-Shaped Gem, players can find a Thunderbird carving to the right side of the round door. After using the Peculiar Pinion gadget, there will be an Exquisite Chest. Inside the chest is the first Star-Shaped Gem.
Second Star-Shaped Gem Location
Next, players have to walk to the left side (of the round door). They should find the second carving not far from the first one. Inside this wall, there's one Automaton.
Above the Automaton, travelers can open the second Exquisite Chest, which also contains the second Star-Shaped Gem.
Third Star-Shaped Gem Location
For the last Star-Shaped Gem, keep walking to the left of the round door. There will be a stair with a small puddle next to it. The third Thunderbird carving is right above the puddle.
After entering the chamber, turn right, and players will be greeted with six torches on the wall. If they turn right once more, travelers will find a puzzle with three Electro Seelie. Finishing this Seelie puzzle will yield a Precious Chest.
Right above the Electro Seelie puzzle, there's a hole and tree root to go upward. Travelers have to climb up to find the final Exquisite Chest.
On the ceiling of this chamber, players will also find a Mural. This Mural is actually the hint to solve the torch puzzle that was found earlier.
How To Use The Star-Shaped Gem
Players may be wondering what the Star-Shaped Gems are used for. Fortunately, it's trivial to use them. When doing the Shirikoro Peak puzzle for the Particularly Particular Author quest, they have to find three Seelie to open the second round door. Right behind the locked mechanism, there's a small room with three Murals of mountains.
If players move closer to the wall, there'll be an "Open" button. Press on it, and a prompt to use the gems will appear.
After inserting all three gems, three Electro Seelie will spawn and fly out of the ruins. They need to find these Electro Seelie to get a Luxurious Chest.
