A new Genshin Impact announcement has revealed the official release date and time for the upcoming Special Program event for Version 4.8. Developer HoYoverse has previously confirmed that this update will introduce only one new playable character, Fontaine's new Dendro user, Emilie.

Genshin Impact 4.8 is also expected to be the last update before the next major region arrives. The previous Special Program event included a new teaser video, which confirmed that the next destination for the Traveler will be the Pyro nation, better known as Natlan.

The fact that Nilou will be included in the program could indicate that she will get a re-run. Many fans hope to get the chance to pull for this unique Hydro user, especially considering that she has already skipped ten consecutive Genshin Impact updates. One of the main reasons players want Nilou is that her kit enhances the Bloom Elemental Reaction.

The announcement has confirmed that Genshin Impact Version 4.8 is called Summertime Scales and Tales, which confirms that the new update will have a summer theme. This means that it will be filled with various events that allow players to gather tons of Primogems for free.
