  • Fans are pleased with the lineup, especially with the addition of new character Lynette and the strong four-star unit Bennett, who is known for his powerful heal ability.
  • The new five-star bow user Lyney will serve as the main DPS, utilizing a Charged Attack playstyle, while Yelan was part of the game's most profitable banner. Their signature weapons will also be featured in the update.

Genshin Impact has officially confirmed which four-star characters and weapons will be featured in phase 1 of the upcoming update 4.0. With the number of playable characters increasing in almost every new update, developer HoYoverse has been featuring double banners in each new version of the game.

The ongoing Limited Character Banner features the Hydro user Sangonomiya Kokomi alongside the Anemo DPS Wanderer. Genshin Impact players who want to add either of them to their roster don't have a lot of time to do so since their banner is scheduled to expire on August 15.

Genshin Impact's recent live stream event has already confirmed the two five-star units that will be featured in the first part of 4.0, the new five-star unit Lyney and the popular Hydro bow user Yelan. The game's official Twitter account has confirmed which four-star characters and weapons will accompany Lyney and Yelan on the upcoming banner cycle. According to the tweet, the first banner for Genshin Impact update 4.0 will feature the following characters:

  • Lyney - five-star Pyro bow user
  • Yelan - five-star Hydro bow user
  • Barbara - four-star Hydro catalyst user
  • Lynette - four-star Anemo sword user
  • Bennett - four-star Pyro sword user

Overall, fans seem very happy about the four-star lineup since it features one new character, Lynette, and Bennett who is widely considered as one of, if not the strongest four-star unit in Genshin Impact. Bennett's power lies in his Elemental Burst, Fantastic Voyage, which provides an extremely powerful heal that can buff the whole team composition. The third character, Barbara, is probably the weakest unit in this lineup and most players claim that they've already maxed out her constellation levels.

The new five-star bow user Lyney will fill the role of the main DPS, at least according to the footage shown in the recent Special Program event. Lyney's playstyle revolves around using his special Charged Attack, similar to Tighnari and Ganyu. The second five-star character, Yelan, was part of Genshin Impact's most successful banner when it comes to revenue.

Both of these characters are bow users and their signature weapons, The First Great Magic and Aqua Simulacra, will both be featured in phase 1 of the update. The First Great Magic is a new bow that has great synergy with Lyney since its passive can significantly increase the holder's Charged Attack damage. The fact that it has features Crit Damage as the secondary stat makes it very flexible as it can be used by most DPS characters in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
