Farewell of Snezhnaya is the current featured Wish Banner in Genshin Impact. It debuted alongside the major 2.2 Update, and as with all Event Wishes, Farewell of Snezhnaya features an increased drop rate for a specific 5-star character and a handful of 4-star characters. As the name implies, Genshin Impact's popular Snezhnayan, Tartaglia, is the featured 5-star character. This is Childe's third appearance, though the featured 4-star characters are different this time around.

Chongyun, Ningguang, and Yanfei are also featured on this iteration of the Farewell of Snezhnaya Banner alongside Tartaglia. Each of these characters is quite powerful in the right circumstances, and can be a crucial part of several team comps.

Tartaglia (Childe)

Tartaglia is one of the most unique characters in Genshin Impact, and a solid character to pull for after the big 2.2 Update. While Tartaglia is technically a Hydro Bow user, his Elemental Skill Foul Legacy: Raging Tide has Tartaglia put the bow away and enter a Melee stance where he draws two swords. These attacks are great for applying Hydro to enemies, and for causing large Hydro AoE detonations against enemies inflicted with Riptide - applied by Childe's charged arrow shots while in Ranged Stance.

If players can get the hang of Childe's ability rotations (and understanding the cooldown for his Elemental Skill), he can be a very strong DPS character, whether using him as a Sub-DPS to quickswap to for Burst damage, or using him on-field with other off-field Sub-DPS characers. Both are viable and depend on what other characters a player has unlocked. With Childe's rapid Hydro application, reaction teams work well with him.

One such team relies on Vaporize, and features Childe/Xiangling/Sucrose/Bennett. Using Childe to apply Hydro to a lot of enemies sets them up really well for Xiangling's Pyronado Elemental Burst and Bennett's nearly-infinite use Elemental Skill. Another example team would be what is commonly referred to as a Taser Team, with Childe/Beidou/Fischl/Bennett. This team triggers Electro Charged thanks to Fischl and Beidou's Electro Attacks pairing with Childe's Hydro damage.

In terms of artifacts, Childe almost exclusively runs the Heart of Depth 4-piece set for bonus 15 percent Hydro damage as well as bonus Normal and Charged Attack damage, which works wonders with Childe's Elemental Skill. If players wanted to focus more on building Childe's Burst, they could go for a mix of 2-piece Heart of Depth and a 2-piece Noblesse Oblige.

For weapons, the currently-featured 5-star bow Polar Star is a great choice. The weapon centers around the idea of rotating Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts to maximize damage. Since Childe uses all of these frequently, it is essentially free bonus damage. On top of that, the bow by default will raise Childe's Elemental Burst damage by 12/15/18/21/24 percent based on refinement.

Chongyun

genshin impact chongyun

Chongyun is a Claymore-weilding Cryo user and resident of Liyue. Chongyun is a great Cryo user and a solid pick for certain team comps. Chongyun's Elemental Skill is Spirit Blade - Chonghua's Layered Frost. Layered Frost does an Area-of-Effect (AoE) Cryo explosion, and for a short time will embue any Polearm, Sword, and Greatsword users' attacks with Cryo Damage. Chongyun's Elemental Burst is Spirit Blade - Cloud-Parting Star, which summons three giant blades that explode when hitting the ground, detonating in a Cryo AoE and sending enemies flying.

Chongyun is great for teams that rely on triggering Melt reactions, especially with a team centered around Xiangling. However, team comps for Chongyun can be flexible. Usually running a second Cryo user is recommended to get Cryo Resonance. If players wanted to really feel the elemental love, they could run a Permafreeze team with a Hyrdro user (like Childe or Xingqiu) and keep enemies frozen thanks to the constant Cryto damage.

In terms of artifacts, ideally Chongyun will run a blend of 2-piece Noblesse Oblige and 2-piece Blizzard Strayer to stack Elemental Burst damage and Cryo Damage. If building Chongyun to be a DPS character instead of a Cryo Support, then players may want to opt for a full 4-piece of Noblesse Oblige.

Ningguang

Players should be familiar with Ningguang if they have progressed through the Liyue chapter of Genshin Impact's main story. Ningguang is Genshin Impact's sole Geo Catalyst user, who can not only provide heavy burst DPS with her Elemental Burst, but also considerable DPS through her alternating Normal and Charged Attacks. Being a Geo Calayst user is an interesting combination, and Geo will be getting another unique combination whenever Gorou makes an appearance.

Ningguang's Normal Attacks build up Star Jades, which increase the damage of her Charged Attacks. Her Elemental Skill is the Jade Screen, which summons a horizontal barrier in front of Ningguang, blocking (most) enemy projectiles and deals AoE Geo damage. Once players have unlocked Ningguang's second Ascention Passive, when players move through her Jade Screen they will gain a 12 percent Geo Damage bonus for 10 seconds.

Her Elemental Burst, Starshatter, sends many crystals flying toward enemies, dealing massive Geo Damage. If Starshatter is cast while a Jade Screen is up, the Jade Screen will send additional projectiles. Because Geo does not have any particularly flashy elemental reactions, Ningguang's team composition is also flexible. Having a second Geo user to activate Geo Resonance is recommended, but outside of that players can run virtually any team comp while still having Ningguang be a damage dealer. Characters like Xinqiu, Beidou, and Xhongli are great picks for Sub-DPS characters, while support characters like Diona or Bennett are always welcome.

Artifact sets for Ningguang are limited since there is one clear choice: Archaic Petra. Archaic Petra's 2-piece gives a 15 percent Geo Damage bonus. As for another 2-piece to pair with it, players can either go for the Gladiator's 2-piece to grant an Attack damage bonus, or the Noblesse Oblige 2-piece for Burst damage bonus, depending on where most of the damage is coming from.

For weapons, Ningguang does not have any particularly exceptional Catalysts to use. The Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds grants an Elemental Damage bonus, which is nice, but being a 5-star may mean it is not readily available. The Solar Pearl from the Battle Pass is a good option, as with it, Normal Attacks will increase Elemental Skill and Burst damage, while Elemental Skill and Bursts will increase Normal Attack Damage. It works really well with Ningguang considering her skill rotation.

Yanfei

genshin impact yanfei pyro attack animation

Yanfei, also a resident of Liyue, is a Pyro Catalyst user who specializes in using fire to make her fire even better. With Yanfei's Normal Attacks, she will generate Scarlet Seals (one per attack). When using a Charged Attack, Yanfei consumes the Scarlet Seals to increase her Charged Attack damage, scaling based on the number of Seals consumed. Signed Edict is Yanfei's Elemental Skill, which deals AoE Pyro damage and grants Yanfei her max number of Scarlet Seals.

Yanfei's Elemental Burst is Done Deal, which summons a spray of flames that seek out enemies and deal AoE Pyro Damage. Done Deal grants the maximum number of Scarlet Seals on hit, and applies Brilliance to Yanfei. Brilliance periodically grants Yanfei a Scarlet Seal and increases her Charge Attack damage. This pairs well with the fact that Scarlet Seals reduce Yanfei's stamina consumption, allowing her to Charge Attack more often.

For Team Comps, Yanfei/Xiangling/Barbara/Kaeya makes sense, possibly with another Cryo user in the fourth slot. Players can build a lot of elemental reactions with this type of team, both Melt and Vaporaize specifically, while also using Xiangling as a secondary Pyro Sub-DPS. Generally Yanfeir is used as a strong Pyro DPS, so building around that concept should work well.

For Artifact sets, it's hard not to recommend running a 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames set. The 2-piece grants a 15 percent Pyro damage bonus, and the 4-piece increases Overload and Burning Damage by 40 percent, Vaporize and Melt damage by 15 percent, and using an Elemental Skill will increase the 2-piece set bonus by 50 percent for 10 seconds (maximum of three stacks). This not only increases the sheer damage Yanfei can deal, but also further increases her team elemental reactions, making it an easy choice.

Weapons are also pretty flexible. The Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is once again a great choice if players have it. Otherwise, The Widsith is likely one of the best in-slot for Yanfei. While The Widsith can provide some powerful bonuses, the effect is random which can be a turn-off for some players. None of the effects are bad by any stretch, but DPS will vary depending on which of the three "theme songs" are pulled."

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
