Between new regions and characters, it's safe to say that Genshin Impact players have a lot to look forward to in the foreseeable future, especially with a new major region being just around the corner. Character leaks are a big part of the game as they create tons of hype for the upcoming content. An official Genshin Impact statement has revealed that the upcoming six to seven months should bring abundance of new characters.

An interesting post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has shared more information about an official statement released a couple of months ago. In a presentation back in 2021, Hoyoverse's President and co-founders, Cai Haoyu, has revealed that the game will add approximately 17 characters each year. Over the last six months, the game has introduced four five-star and three four-star characters, including the upcoming character Kamisato Ayato. This means that ten new additions to the playable roster should be made in the upcoming six months.

According to numerous leaks and rumors, the next six months should include the following characters: Yelan, Kuki Shinobu, Cyno, Heizou, Varka, Nulou, Baizhu, YaoYao, Collei, Scaramouche and the Dendro Archon Kusanali. The next character to be released is probably the Hydro bow user Yelan, considering that her model has been leaked in the current beta. However, unlike Ayato, there were no information about her kit which hints that she will probably appear in a quest rather than joining the playable roster in the upcoming Genshin Impact update 2.6.

While a couple of leakers speculate that Yelan is a new Genshin Impact DPS character, other claim that she will have a supportive role designed to fit Ayato's playstyle. The official livestream for version 2.6 has confirmed the three banner characters that will arrive in the next update. The first banner cycle will bring new character Ayato and the Anemo support Venti with Ayaka being the only announced character for the second cycle. Baizhu, Yaoao and Kusanali will probably be tied with the addition of a new major region named Sumeru. All of these characters are expected to have a Dendro vision which is the only element that is not used by any playable character at the moment.

Baizhu has already appeared in numerous quest lines tied with the Liyue region while Yaoyao remains the only character from the game's original beta that has not joined the playable roster, probably because she's a Dendro user. As a new Genshin Impact Archon, the God of Wisdom Kusanali is also expected to arrive alongside Sumeru and serve as its protector.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
