But instead of continuing the story told in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, E-Day looks back to the very first day of the Locust invasion.

Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel set 14 years before the events of the first Gears of War game, depicting the events of Emergence Day from the perspective of franchise heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago. By returning focus to the Locusts and fan favorite characters like Marcus and Dom, Gears of War: E-Day is clearly trying to take the series back to its roots.
