Two games have been showcased at Nintendo Direct that may remind players of Stardew Valley. One is Palia, an MMORPG, and the other is Fae Farm, an adventure RPG that can be played with up to three friends.

Palia was announced two years ago and is the creation of former Blizzard and Riot devs. It entered alpha stage in February last year and since then has been amassing a community who's been helping the developers play test various aspects of the game. Fae Farm was part of this year's Summer Game Fest, showcasing its colorful and magical world to the fans of cozy games. Both already have a high number of dedicated followers on social media and both can be expected to fully release near the end of the year.

Palia may also remind some gamers of Disney Dreamlight Valley, especially when it comes to its art style. But Palia seems like quite an ambitious project overall, combining elements from various different games into one big experience. It hopes to feature friendly villagers players can befriend in the style of Animal Crossing, the farming elements of Stardew Valley, and also the option to go out into the world on adventures, much like as it's expected from any MMORPG. Before now fans thought the game was only available on PC but thanks to today's Nintendo Direct announcement, players can be glad to know Palia will also be available on Switch.

Fae Farm is everything gamers might expect from a game like Stardew Valley but offers it in a magical fairy skin. Although Fae Farm will also lean more heavily into the adventure element compared to the general blueprint of cozy games. However, it'll have magical creatures to befriend as well as villagers, a nice home to decorate, a farm to work, and a character to customize, much like fans of the genre would hope. Fae Farm will also have multiplayer support. The game will be a satisfying single-player experience, but it'll also offer the opportunity for 3 other friends to join in on the adventures.

There are plenty of cozy games coming out, but the fans of the genre are more than happy to get lost in various different realms while building a beautiful home for themselves. Both Palia and Fae Farm will be available for gamers to get lost in near the end of this year.

Palia will be coming to PC and Switch this holiday season, while Fae Farm will be available on September 8 on PC and Switch.
