Transmogrification, better known by players as Transmog is a feature that allows players to change the design of their character's clothes without losing the stat bonuses of more powerful but arguably uglier armor.

As a feature that allows players to customize their character further it's a surprise that not more games provide this feature as it is mainly only seen in role-playing titles. For those looking for games that allow them this level of options to make their character look the coolest these are definitely the games that have the best transmog features for players to spruce up their character's with.

8 Horizon: Forbidden West

While attempting to take down the variety of machine foes the player will be put up against, Aloy is constantly swapping between armor for the best resistances. This can lead to some moments of Aloy not matching the aesthetic a player may be going for.

Thankfully the transmog feature in Horizon: Forbidden West means as long as a player owns the armor they can freely select Aloy to appear as if she is wearing that set while benefiting from the resistances of something else. This means that players that prefer the look of the original Aloy without worrying that they're making the game harder for themselves.

7 Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Confusing Transmog System

Destiny 2 has progressed a lot since it originally released in 2017. When the game was first published players were forced to risk their power level if they wanted to don specific armor or waste resources to keep their gear relevant. They were also only able to change the shader for their entire gear.

However, as more sets of armor released with new expansions Bungie has expanded upon their transmog features to allow players to fully customize the appearance of their gear. As long as players possess Synthweave they can freely buy ornaments to make their armor look like other pieces as well as sleeting different shaders for each piece of armor they wear.

6 Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy Transmog

While some players may have expected to be stuck in a single uniform with little to no customization options in Hogwarts Legacy similar to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, this wasn't the case at all. Players were able to unlock lots of different gear across all four houses in the open-world rpg that thankfully could be worn simply as decoration without worrying about ruining their stats.

5 Diablo 3

Player using transmog in Diablo 3

Even hack-and-slash role-playing games like Diablo 3 eventually received a transmog system that allowed players to go as far as they recently had with just dying the gear they owned. Being able to change the color of a player's armor is fine as long as the player enjoys the armor set they are already wearing and that is why it was so important that this was expanded upon.

Now for the price of five-hundred gold, a player can change the appearances of their armor to look like a completely different set while also being able to change the color of it. It is however much more expensive to change armor to look like legendary pieces and therefore players are expected to save up to make these purchases.

4 World Of Warcraft

MMOs continue to pave the way for transmog in video games and World of Warcraft was one of the first to do it. When collecting new gear the style of it will automatically be added to the player's appearance collection. By visiting special NPCs players can then change how their armor looks for a certain amount of gold depending on what piece they select.

However, there are some limitations to the armor and weapons that can be equipped. They must be of the same armor or attack type for the piece of gear to be transformed. This means that axes can only be changed into other axes or light armor replaced with a different design of light armor.

2 Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

By far one of the greatest Assassin's Creed games of the franchise for its assortment of armors, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has one of the best transmog system available. As long as the player has collected the piece of armor before they are able to freely mix and match the armor they own to make their own custom gear for Kassandra or Alexios.

What makes it even better is unlike Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, players don't need to worry about having enough money to transform what their gear looks like as it's all entirely free as well as the player gradually unlocking further material options for the sets as they level up.

1 Monster Hunter: Rise

First introduced in Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter: Rise continues to allow players to hunt monster with style as players can freely customize their character's armor without ruining how strong they could possibly be.

Players unlock this transmog system known as Layered Armor pretty early into their playthrough of the title, and therefore they can quickly think about fashion instead of fighting. The customization doesn't stop on just the character as players can also change the outfits of their Palico as well as the Palamute making them just as adorable.
