Players across the world have had the newest gaming hardware on their holiday gift lists this year, from the PS5, to the Xbox Series X/S, and for PC gaming, few can top the Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series of graphics cards. One player's mother has decided to give the gift of massive framerates and ray tracing promised by Next-Gen tech in spirit with a birthday cake that is about as close as some players have managed to get to the new piece of tech this year.

Posted originally to Reddit by user FermentedTNT, the tastier version of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3080 isn't exactly the type of thing that a player would want to stick in their rig. Instead, it's a shockingly accurate recreation of the RTX 3080's outer shell in cake form, complete with the cooling fan and detailed logos.

Viewers coming to see the amazing little cake quickly began commenting about different ways to use it, with some jokingly suggesting to try testing what kind of frame rate Cyberpunk 2077 can achieve on the faux device. To that specific comment, FermentedTNT decided to double down on the joke that the game wouldn't boot, somehow failing to blame the cake for not being able to run the program. For the most part, these comical or amazed responses make up the majority of viewer remarks on seeing this RTX 3080 recreation with cake and rolled-out fondant.

Some users, coming from the Fondanthate subreddit, couldn't help but point out the way that these roll-able icings might look great, but don't taste quite as good. It isn't a new observation, and even these naysayers offered FermentedTNT well wishes for their birthday, regardless of what kind of cake they got. Regardless, in a year with all sorts of Next-Gen tech releasing and advancing gaming across consoles and PC, this might still be one of the best graphics cards of 2020.

In all seriousness, this is a sweet gesture from FermentedTNT's mother, having clearly paid enough attention to the poster's interest to know exactly what would make the cake such a standout. Especially considering the difficulty of actually buying an RTX 30 series at this point, this might be the best some players can hope for until the shortages stop as the hardware continues into a more permanent rollout. So, unappetizing icing or not, FermentedTNT clearly appreciated the thought and likely still enjoyed the cake itself.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 Series is available now at most major retailers while supplies last.
