The PlayStation 5 has officially launched, but many gamers have had difficulty getting their hands on one, thanks to a combination of scalpers, unprecedented demand, and other factors. Now UK retailer GAME is hosting a special Easter Egg hunt on its website that will give fans another chance to get a PS5, along with various other PlayStation goodies.
Search for the Shapes: A PlayStation Celebration will take place across five different days, and it will have participants searching GAME's website and clicking on the iconic PlayStation triangle, circle, cross, and square shapes. Doing so will take them to a contest entry page, where they will then need to fill out the relevant information to secure their entry. The PlayStation shapes will be hidden across 1,000+ possible webpages, so it's going to be a serious challenge for anyone that participates. Participants are encouraged to keep an eye on the official GAME Twitter and Facebook pages for clues to help them in their search. It should be noted that this contest is only open to those who are at least 18 years old and a resident of the UK with a valid UK postal address, excluding Northern Ireland.
The Easter Eggs will be live on GAME's site for a two hour window from 15:00 GMT to 17:00 GMT on the following days:
- Monday, December 7
- Tuesday, December 8
- Thursday, December 10
- Tuesday, December 15
- Thursday, December 17
There will be 102 winners, with a variety of prizes up for grabs. The possible prizes include PlayStation 5 console bundles, which come with the console itself, as well as Demon's Souls, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, along with 12-month memberships to PlayStation's PS Plus and PS Now subscription services. There will also be two PS5 Digital Edition bundles up for grabs, which come with the same things, except digital codes for the games instead of discs.
While PS5 console bundles are the main prizes, there are many other big prizes Easter Egg hunt participants can win. Participants can potentially win a game bundle that includes the aforementioned titles, as well as an accessory bundle that comes with a PS5 DualSense controller, charging station, Pulse 3D wireless headset, HD camera, and media remote. While the big focus of the Easter Egg hunt is on the PlayStation 5, there will also be some PS4 prizes available. This includes some VR bundles, as well as a PS4 500GB bundle that comes with the console and the PS4 versions of Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
